Complete lack of 3rd party support to stabilize the deficit? This is true, unless you can show me how GameCube is (on average) outselling PS2 and XBox in 3rd party softsales. This is a nonissue actually - Nintendo relies on their firstparties; they're failing as per historical levels. There is no 3rd party to make up for this. Hell, how many companies have shrugged off Nintendo now?
If you really want to get into this, we can bust out the 3rd party percentages per corperate entity and per absolute sales. It won't be pretty for Nintendo, as you well know.

Yeah. It won't be long before EA drops almost all of their Cube development IMO. They'll probably still put out Harry Potter and a few games of that nature, but I can't see them continuing to support such poor sales.
My answers are succinct for a reason: I've said just about everything that needs to be said on this issue here in this forum about 9 months ago. Recent events are merely confirming my earlier concerns about the Gamecube's long term viability.
Gamecube = Dreamcast w/EA support.
I mean Crazy Taxi on Dreamcast (arcade port) sold better than Metroid Prime on the Cube. What's up with that? Dreamcast installed base was similar to the Gamecube's in the US at this point in the lifecycle etc...
The GBA is the only thing keeping the Cube alive at this point. The days of Nintendo getting away with only bringing out 4 great titles per year are over I'm afraid. Zelda, F-Zero and Mario Kart aren't cutting it this year and that's hardly surprising really.

That's almost scary. Since Xbox and GC launched it looks like it's gone up 3/4 of what they have? Um... What's going on there? Heh...Still, I don't expect to see the Xbox and GC accelerating during that period unless the PS3 is a no-show (or at least highly unimpressive) or they bring out something notable alongside. (And confirm backwards compatability, which is probably one thing that kept the PS1 bumping along well--there's no loss in game-buying, and may even be benefits later on.)

Meanwhile, on the squabbling, seriously people stop stroking egos (yours or other people), stop knee-jerk reacting with taunts or invective, and SERIOUSLY stop telling the mods how to do their job! 1) If you stop and look at "real" stats (for example the one posted by Magnum Pi), you see the evidence that Xbox is not in any better situation than GCN about Software library.
2) about third party support : when i go to my software vendor and look at what is sold on GCN, i have the feeling that most of the "best" cross-platform titles are there.
IMO, i don't care if F1 2028 is on Xbox but not on GCN.
I do prefer seeing title like SC2, LOR, etc.
Frankly, does GCN lack many of the "good" crossplatform titles ??
PS : when i see charts like the one i mentioned, i think it is a rocket in the foot of the ones who argue since more than a year that GCN lacks 3rd party support ... 8) 8) 8)
