..Or is i just me? I followed this link:

And clicked on the images to view them full size.

Maybe it' just me, but as time goes by the level of polish on this game looks higher and higher.

It's almost like they added another level of detail to the textures and everything else in these shots.

Brilliant looking design and artwork, but I don't think it' going to look quite that detailed on the 360.

Gamepro gave it a 5/5.

Yeah, commence Gamepro basing, but it was a real 2 page review that reads just like any other magazine review.

Although I dont get why they liked it graphically so well. At one point they said "the backgrounds are some of the best looking in any fighting game"

It's like well gee, damning with faint praise there, considering next gen is not even supposed to be on the same graphical level (that's the point..graphics..otherwise there would be no new consoles just repackaged old ones). Except they didn't mean it that way, think they gave it a 5/5 for graphics too.

I've seen store videos of the game and they were clearly of very high quality (DVD movies, most likely), and I didn't think the game looked particulary spectacular. Sure it looks NICE, but not whoah omigosh WTF good.

Also, the fighting looks very stiff and unnatural, like it's robots fighting and not human beings (albeit severely disproportional ones in their chestal area in the case of the females ). Characters doesn't as much flow into one move after the other as switches, this leads to jerkyness and lack of natural inertia when they move. Also, kicks and punches that sends the opponent flying 5+ meters clearly defy all sensibility (not to mention the laws of good ol' Isaac Newton). And yes, I know this is par for the course with regards to fighting games, but DoA manages to make these moves look even worse than usual. It's something in the animations that just don't look right.

Besides, it's a terribly sexist game series as well, and I won't support shit like that.

Bah, aprecating the beauty of the female form has never been sexist! ;)

But as for the game itself, I'd like to see some shots of what it really looks like playing on a 360 before making any comments.

I wonder where fighting games go from here, what can they do to wow gamers, apart from graphics? I think next wow factor would be fully destructible environments, deformable objects, dynamic weather and time, realistic cloth and hair behaviour etc. Anyway, should I expect Tekken 5 opening FMV level graphics from next gen fighting games?

If by next-gen you mean ps4/x720/Coup d'Etat.

Why do they have to look like plastic 12 year olds? That's my only question! Itagaki is on crack if he thinks those girls are beautiful. They have T&A but once you see the face it's all of a sudden just creepy.

Looks okay, but as long as it plays okay then that's all that really matters. I imagine it should entertain people that are looking for a fighter on their shiny new system.

It seems to be the intent.

It'd be one thing if the game was appreciative of the female form (though I sort of question the validity of doing that in a goddamn fighting game), but instead it's exploiting it. It's not just that females hardly wear clothes, it's the camera angles as well.

Making women look and move like fucking whores is not appreciating them. Jesus...

DOA is like the pinnacle of babe games.

The art is just so much better than say, the Tekken series.

Whats wrong with that ? Most fighting games show men with thier muscles buldging and no shirts on , or very little clothes also .

Turn about is fair play

What else did they say about the graphics? Without self-shadowing or some sort of advanced lightiing techniqes, i cant see how you give this game higher than a 4 out of 5.

And now we see the true strength of the next generation of consoles: The best Breast Physics possible.

"See! They're moving independantly! The bounce and jiggle is computed on a per-cup basis!"

Soon, this area of technology will be fully realized, and they'll have to move on to a sadly neglected area: Ass Physics.

(Strangely, I doubt this satirical remark is actually incorrect.)
