Diablo III - It's official

Ha I've never heard of the Nemesis Killer of X thing. That's cool.

What you mention is part of a Rift, Adventure Mode, or a Greater Rift? Can it be achieved solo, which is the most likely way I am going to try.

Bounties are the meat of Adventure Mode. Upon starting a game, there will be 5 bounties in each Act. Once you complete all 5 bounties in an Act, talk to Tyrial and he will hive you a Horadric Cache. That's what I'm referring to when I use the work Cache. Also note that some legendary items (including the almighty RoRG) can only be found in these caches. Thus they are referred to as Cache Only legendaries.

I found both of my RoRGs solo, so it is certainly possible. You can get it much much faster doing split bounties in a party.

On a different note, do random events like enemies called Nemesis killer of "nick of a friend on Xbox Live or Battlenet, or whatever" happen on the PC?
Sadly no. Those damn console peasants are receiving special treatment from Blizzard, it's very aggravating.

Ah, okay thanks. So, using your method, you have to wait to open those caches, collect a few of them so you can get that RRoG -wonder what that abbreviation stands for- item you talk about. Did I get it correctly?

LOL, Grall. Excuse me, I am so sorry. :p If you are green with envy I can record a video for you. But those events are totally random, it seems, I don't know what triggers them tbh.

It just happens. Those battles are so fun, although I have a hunch which tells me is that those monsters are the murderers of higher levels characters than yours, as I am usually toast in a few seconds after they appear.

The battles are very exciting and fun anyways, but not advisable for hardcore characters. The loot is worth it and nothing bad happens if you die -non HC- except for the durability loss.

That's right.

RoRG = Ring of Royal Grandeur. It is an essential item for high level characters, as it reduces the number of items required for a set bonus by 1. E.g. If an armor set gives you +500 Intelligence for wearing 4 pieces of it, the RoRG would allow you to get the +500 Int only wearing 3 pieces. That way you can pretty easily get 2 or more set bonuses from different armor sets at the same time!

The Nemesis is spawned when one on your friend list dies.

Every time it defeats an "enemy" (e.g. you or friends) it becomes stronger.

Hmmm... I can tell you right off the bat that the sooner I speak the sooner it happens.

10 minutes into a game and it happened. I recorded the moment, and the death of my character. :( I got a bit nervous confronting it.

I uploaded the video -with the sounds, horns, and all- to my Onedrive account: :smile2:

That's cool. Now I just need to start finding some useful Set items and then try Bounties and Rifts

Ah... that's good to know, thanks for the explanation. I only defeated it once.

Hahaha, I really don't care. Just tried channeling Davros for the span of one B3D post... :) I have zero friends on my b.net list anyhow so I'd never see one of those monsters even if they were in the PC version.

So what do you do if you're a HC player and suddenly horns start blaring? Just run blindly for your life towards the closest waypoint and hope you make it in time before getting clobbered...? Sounds kinda, ahem, not-fun, actually.

So, is Reaper of Souls worth it?

I'm still running around in the plain old Diablo III. I can only assume that the loot I've spent many hours gathering is kind of lackluster when a level 61-70 item is much better?

The new items and power level aside, the other features of RoS are worth it. Myriam for enchant and transmute (even though she's a fucking bitch and I hate her so badly), extra bank slot, Crusaders, entire new Act V I really enjoyed, Bounties and Rifts, Kadala for gambling addiction..... so much in RoS.

Enchanting alone is worth it.

If Reaper of Souls is the same as Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition, then I'd wholeheartedly recommend it to you with a resounding YES, give it a try.

I also have the PC vanilla version (which, much to my dismay, I disliked with all of my soul) and Xbox One's, and what can I say, the difference is huge, for all the reasons mentioned above and then some. :p In fact, I love Diablo 3 UEE.

Yes, the master race champion, superior paladin of the order in chief.

On friends... well... I was like you -I had like 30 friends or so on the X360-.

But the amount of friends I have on the Xbox One is considerably more, and growing, which I LIKE.

I am sitting at 205 friends now. The best thing about the Xbox One system is that friends don't hover. :)

You only get a notification when a favourite friend signs in -if you want to, you can set it to everyone-, which is a most welcome feature -imagine having 1000 friends and getting a notification every time one of them signs in-.

The more friends the merrier because of games like Diablo, where you get to fight their Nemesis, or they send you gifts and stuff. In other games I don't really care.

Anyways, friends is a delicate subject for me. I lost my best friend for 6 years there --an English girl. And that hurts. But such is life.

You can't fight against the impossible, and against you. She doesn't want me to keep in touch with her, it's obvious. I could contact her -easy- but I just prefer not to.

As long as she is fine and doing well then things are good for me.

Kinda agree with your point on the Nemesis thing. I didn't try Hardcore since Diablo 2 days, so I don't know if that Nemesis appears in that game mode.

But yeah, I see your point, that arch-devil jerk could be a game breaker for those working hard on a HC character. It's fun on the normal mode.

I used my first Infernal Machine today. Wasn't sure how difficult it would be so I was on T3. I defeated the bosses in ~20 seconds and didn't get a drop :(.

Oh well I'm about to do another one on T4. Here goes nothin

Only infernal machines I've done managed to get drops for nickcastle, but nothing for myself :(

Heh, we each got 2 hellfire ingredients last night. Farmed keys for about 2 hours.

Nick only needs 1 more ingredient now thanks to your previous efforts :).

Getting a good hellfire necklace is a difficult task. I've made 5. Only 1 is really useable (and not even great because its for a build that isn't competitive at high levels). Getting them to roll a useful passive and good stats seems a daunting task for the effort required.

5????? The farming involved in just one is ridiculous.

It's not that hard with the right gear. I just ignore the other mobs (vault/teleport/spirit walk/furious charge through) when looking for the keys. Then when doing parts runs make sure you have 3 friends with a similar number of machines. My friends and I will typically do about 20 machines at a time. Each one only takes a few minutes.

Since most of my Diablo mates have Hellfire stuff already, I've decided to try and actually farm in earnest. I'm using the runs as gold farming as well and doing them on T4. With my gold farming gear and the new boon or the hoarder gem I'm finally able to afford making gems again.
