Diablo III - It's official

Cool. I suspected there was something to it since I so easily found not 1 but 2 RoRGs the first try after months of searching in vain.

Obviously opening a bunch of caches simultaneously is enough to trigger the counter. The more caches, the better. I'd say going for 10 would be almost a sure thing for getting a legendary. Thing is, that doesn't mean it will be the RoRG. There are 4 other Act1 only legendaries, so best case you have a 1/5 chance of it dropping. I got luuuuucky.

And just to reiterate if it isn't clear, Act1 caches are the only way to get a RoRG. It does not randomly drop. It's best to do the bounties on the highest difficulty that you can quickly go through. That's T3 for me, but going to T2 might be worth it since I can clear them even faster and the leg drop chance doesn't go down that much.

Man I love these hackers DDoSing battle.net for justice and freedom. Keep fighting the good fight gentlemen.

Malo does Nick post here? We were raging up the ladder in some greater rifts before an unfortunate North American outage of Battle.net. I really wanna keep it going.

BTW the new patch is completely awesome. Many little things add up to one great package. Streamlined salvaging, legendary gems etc. And the greater rifts are just at total blast of adrenaline and sweaty palms. I invited Grall to play with us and he made the point that he has no toons on North American servers, but this shit is worth starting anew for. Grall if you're listening, join up and I'll power level the shit out of you. You'll be 70 in 24 hours.

AlphaWolf are you in North America? We easily have enough folks for 2 parties at this point.

It's cool I PMed you the details if you ever wanna join up. We're not the most hardcore bunch but we can hold our own and most importantly we have lots of fun :p

No Nick isn't a member of B3D, he's a personal friend in RL. Didn't really get to see much of the new stuff last night due to the server issues but things definitely changed for my Barbarian. Going to have to change slightly and re-balance him, and 2-handed might be worth going back to as well given the damage increase.

I've now thrown well over 1.5k shards at Kadala and the bitch won't give me that new 'n improved Leoric's Crown I need to get my crusader's CDR above 50% (it's now at 48.5%). Lots of trash legendary drops though. . .smart loot sure turned into boring loot damn fast.

I've found over 10 Zunimassa's Marrow. WTF is up with that?

Also if you thought playing on Intel HD3000 graphics was bad, try playing on HD3000 graphics plus a 1/.1Mbps (not a typo...) connection. The telco at the family beach house is taking that local monopoly really seriously. USA! USA! USA! USA!

Found a leggy dagger thing for my scoundrel yesterday, it dropped out of a big chest together with a leggy blacksmith plan when looted while I had a MF shrine buff going. It has more of all the same stats the previous dagger had, plus enabled all skills to be used. Pretty awesome. :) I've given my scoundrel a hellrack gemmed with a max-level ruby, and according to the character sheet he now does over 200k dps with that and some leggy necklace (etlich? I can't remember) and two random rare rings. Maybe that's good, maybe it's not that impressive, I dunno. :D

Well I finally got my first Ring of Royal Grandeur last night using Homerdog's method. I had tried a few times before but due to other legendaries dropping during all the bounties, I'm guessing the "pity counter" was being reset all the time. So this time any legendary/set drops I got I did not identify.

6 bounties later on Torment IV, open them all at once and BOOM the ring drops along with a set helm and another legendary.

I actually put the ring on my Crusader as I don't have enough pieces of IK for my Barb to do what I want to do with him. Removing the Bracer on my Crusader allowed me to add the kick ass Thorns bracers, keep her Invoker set maxed and activate the 3pc set for demons. With the Fulminator sword instead, she is now obscene for lightning aoe and thorns aoe.

I just saw my brother go through a treasure goblin portal. He came out with twenty million gold and 20 imperial gems. On Torment 2. The amount of gold flying around is pornographic. I saw a single stack with 477,000. And there are hundreds of stacks. I was taking a piss break when he found it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGAHAHFFFHRRREWWE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gold inside the Greed realm seems to be shared between all players entering it. So you want to be fast and...err...greedy, and sweep up that gold before someone else has the chance to.

I've been there once in some random group, and I don't know how many millions I came out with, but it was a bunch for sure. Not 20 though. :(

He was there all by himself. It was almost exactly 20 million gold and exactly 20 imperials.

Forgot to mention, right after that my bro's girlfriend got a RoRG using The Method. My bro got 3 legendaries out of 6 caches, but no ring (there is a 1/5 chance of a legendary from an Act 1 cache to be the RoRG). There does seem to be some merit to saving up the caches and opening them all at once.

My wiz, check out the helm, source, and sword. I double proc quite often, and with Vyr's set the archon dmg bonus with the helm lasts longer. If I could, I'd rename this character as Dondarrion after GRRM's lightning lord. Ranged dmg is very good with the one gem, and if enemies get close my one passive helps boost that dmg. Paper dmg is often 4-5m with archon after a busy fight, and then electrocute gets 60% and lightning skills get another 55% or so. Enemies tend to explode when your dmg is 10m or so. Bad side is his toughness, he's a bit of a paper tiger.

Does anyone have a good build for some AoE damage for demon hunter? I haven't been able to figure anything out, and the skills I've tested all seem not fun, sadly. Wizard, almost everything hits more than one target it feels like, AoE is damn near unavoidable. I prefer to play the DH though, he isn't such a self-absorbed prat all the time, haha.

Right now I use rapid fire, sentry, vault, hungering arrow and evasive fire. Shadow power for health regen in emergencies, although with the changes in the last patch I hardly need to use it in T1 anymore, even with no paragon points spent on health leech. They nerfed the game pretty hard, I can actually survive now, lol. My damage is still low though... :(
