Diablo 3 - Gamepad Edition

That's cool. Cool that they responded in a positive way and cool that D3 is going to be 60 fps true.

Well, quite the contrary, technically. In fact their game was running at a true precise 60fps before and it'll be only 59.94fps after the day one patch. ;)

Yeah, I had to do a double take on that one. XD

Quite curious to see how things hold up in 4p co-op (especially local). If they know it gets bad with local co-op, maybe they should do a res reduction or at least pare back the particle effects (assuming that's the main culprit) for maintaining 60fps in that mode - in the latter case, they could claim it's for better visibility. ;)

All I care about are Witch Doctors, ice piranhas, fire bats, dagger-wielding midgets, and whatever other unholy creatures homerdog assembled.

Ok, so there is no issue anymore. Now that the release is getting closer, I am getting weak in the knees again ........don't want to pay full price again but the gamer inside me just won't stop  !

I'm getting this for PS4. Put in over 2k hours on the PC version... hopefully duping and hacked items can be kept under control

Since I can carry my characters from the ps3 version, how will the trophies work?
Also, I just realised I haven't been getting trophies in my account at all ! Weird !

So, trophies for inital levels will be awarded only if I replay them?

Also, since I have it on ps3 too, can I then take those characters back into my ps3 game? Cos, we play couch co-op on the ps3, don't have extra controller on the ps4 yet. So, will I be able to swap my characters between the versions? Or is it a one time carry forward?

I'm pretty sure you can't swap between the two versions but even if you could what would be the point? If you tried to transfer your ROS char back to D3v you would be back to where you were before the transfer since D3v has a lvl cap of 60 and can only use up to ilvl 63 gear. Also all the crafting mats are different.

The. Reason I asked is for my low level Barbarian. I had a level 60 Demon Hunter but he was so OP that I was destroying everything with ease. I gave up on him and started again with a Barbarian, a class I don't like much but I imagined it would make the game interesting again as he is not adept at ranged combat. It seems I was right as this Barb has a tough time in hordes and I was dying quite a lot last night. Atleast that makes me think about my gear and strategizing a bit about my passive and actives.

The reason I want to switch to ps4 now is because I think DH felt overpowered cos PS3 had lesser number of monsters compared to the pc version. Its a guess, am not sure it is the culprit or not, but that is the only gameplay affecting mechanic that differed on the consoles. I do not want this kindof dis balance which can ruin the game after you invest so heavily in your character. It took a LOT of time to get that DH to Level 60 and if you watch my previous posts here I was always complaining that the game posed no challenge at all , playing as DH. Even the boss fights were won in one try with no strategizing at all ! That takes away the fun of the game. The IgN review says the particle effects on the ps4 version are not really at max settings of the pc version, but other than that they do not mention any difference. So, I am hoping its the same as their balanced PC version.

My Barb is only level 17 as of now and me n wife play co-op sometimes with her Wizard. I want to keep that going is why wanted to know if I could take him back n forth between versions. I guess it won't be possible cos IGN review says ROS changes the game quite a bit and even adds an extra passive slot, etc. I guess it would mean a different barb progressing in my ps3 game or would it get removed from there? Pretty confusing , eh ! :???:

EDIT: I have done it :yep2: ! Just spent full price for the same game again ! A gamer I am and a Gamer's death awaits me !
(until I respawn...muhuahuahuahuahaha !)

Same here. I thought it was out today on the Xbox One today, but there isn't! I have it on PC already but fell out of love with the silly DRM, as sometimes my connection dropped in the winter when weather was severely harsh.

I never got past the 3rd stage in the PC version on Normal difficulty mode, so to me it's like discovering the game once again, just a lot more smooth and crisp than on my PC. Yay! :D

I hated that game on PC, and never gave it a chance, 'cos of the DRM stuff and some decisions with the economy.

I will try to buy it asap, I think I can fancy Diablo 3 as I did with Diablo 2 if the Xbox One version is what I expect it to be. I am more of a single player in Diablo games, so it makes the console version even better for me.

Barb is avg in ROS, DH using M6 is really strong, but the gameplay style isnt for everyone.

So the DH is overpowered? on PC too?
I like his playing style, but don't like the fact that it makes the game too easy in a way.

I think I will ditch all my old characters and start anew. Wonder what I should be? How are the Witch Doctor and the Crusader? Hows the wizard on higher levels?

I love my Barbarian, he's a specialist at taking down hordes. His survival and damage are considerably higher the more monsters there are.

There are many different ways to play each type of class, and that can (and will) change frequently over the course of your character. Even after 70 going through master->T1->T2-3 etc. you will probably change or even fully re-invent your character based on some specific item drops. You can't judge any of the classes on lower levels.
