Destiny [PS3,X360,PS4,XO]

.I was never kicked either but did leave many a group after wasting nights because of one or two weirdos who have no patience and won't leave either

See, that's where you cut your losses. No reason to "waste a night" with bad groups. If I join a group I'm trying to feel them out early on for those very reasons. Is there a bad attitude, is it kids, are they bad, etc. I've found the biggest predictor is simple light level. Usually high light groups are high light for a reason and will usually result in a good run (it also helps that higher light directly makes the game easier).

But yeah, you want to leave with 5-10 minutes of joining a bad group if possible. It's a judgement call sometimes.

I do get there's kind of a line though where say, you've made it to Oryx, you really want that Oryx loot and you've already invested a lot of time, and things go bad but you dont want to leave all that time on the table. So you cant always play it perfectly, but you can help yourself a lot.

@orangpelupa : nightfall someday? Just to see the drops :)

Hate to burst your bubble but the new nightfall is 320 light recommended and is decently tough (nothing horrible) this week when I ran it even at 325-328. Bungie made it into a real endgame thing again, both in rewards and difficulty.

You're just being weird, considering automated LFG sites are essentially matchmaking. I dont why it makes it "ok" if you were matchmade with crap teammates. But not OK if you are LFG'ed with them?
Well, I am not saying that :)> what i am saying is that LFG is just matchamking done elsewhere, outside the game. SO, I don't see why matchamking cannot be in the game. The need is there, thats why LFG exists. From this post it seems u r saying the same , so...I guess we are both saying the same thing. lol

Anyways I still disagree, I dont play the Division but from everything I can tell and have read or watched videos, matchmaking is a disaster in the Division endgame, and you cannot use it effectively. Your team will be useless and they will usually either quit or boot you at the end. So I dont get why you keep holding it up as a good thing. You: "Division has matchmaking for endgame activities" Me: "Yeah, technically, but it's effectively useless so it's no big advantage..."

In Destiny the main difference is NOBODY uses mics in matchmade activities, whereas mics are standard fare in LFG activities (although you can and I often do opt to not use a mic in easier LFG activities). Not sure why that's the dividing line for mic usage, but it is.

But I agree with you basically after all that. Bungie should matchmake everything short of the Raid, and POSSIBLY even the raid. Like you said, maybe matchmade raid after 2-3 months or something? I would have to see it in practice to see how I liked it though. POE42 looks like a big one that really is too easy to not have matchmaking.

Just unlike you I realize with automated LFG sites it basically IS matchmaking. I dont draw some arbitrary line and refuse to cross it (LFG is really easy, and they have it for all MMO's for a reason...).

The fact that Division lets u have it simply means there is a way to play the game within the game. There IS a chance I will land up with a good team. Atleast I can play the mode, learn it without the need of my friends' availalbility. Just like LFG its not always bad teams in matchmaking too, sometime u end up with fab ppl and make it through. Rest of the time, atleast u aren't twiddling ur thumbs waiting for friends, but playing the game, getting better, making friends for future playsessions etc.

Having that option opens up the game for me, someone who doesn't have a fixed gaming time. with LFG, it takes time to set up a group. There have been many times in Destiny when I ended up quitting the game by the time a group was set up for the raid. I do not have that kind of time anymore, and the game can easily let me play too, just by matchmaking.

320? hmm...that would be tough at 300 i guess.

So, the route is to go to POE and Strikes, I guess.

as for the LFG groups, yeah, I know, later on I just raided only when my friends were online or not at all. As for higher light level ppl, the point is u go into a raid to gain light, so going with only high light people is very discriminatory, honestly. Everyone is there for gaining light. ......and its humsn, u cannot know a nature of a guardian from a light level :p.

Anyways, U got what I wanted to say and I see ur point too, had been doing that months. Given all of that, matchmaking can liven up the game at this stage, but I guess they plan to keep it this way.

? This week nightfall still easy as usual for a team. Just run through using invisibility. Then on boss, just spam with tether and weapons of light.

Cant run through first part which was fairly difficult (doors+orbs=enforced wait)...are you thinking of the same strike?

Although I guess that part wasn't difficult once we figured out a semi safe spot up top.

Datto said it...Destiny is truly a loot pinata now. As usual not sure how I feel about it, but if you wanted easy mode we have it.

Ehh, they've tried every other thing in endgame might as well give this a whirl for a few months.

In general I feel like I'll hit 335 post haste (2-3 weeks maybe?), get a few more of my fave gear infused high, and then go back to just stress free dabbling in crucible/whatever. Which I enjoy. Bungie should hope people dont lose interest extremely fast since the light cap is now so easy to hit (well, seems so).

Ooh there's a new high impact scout...forgot the name but it comes from Variks. I want it since I'm a high impact scout aficionado.

I noticed it has 50 aim assist, highest in class. Pair with a AA assist sight and you're up to 55 AA.

Somebody said it only holds 11 in the mag though, although I think the specs said 15 so he might be wrong.

Seemed to have low base stability, but I'm not sure how much that matters on a slow fire scout.

Of course as usual it will probably actually suck after I get it, but hey.

hmm, im still using the arc mini thunderlord auto rifle (dunno the name) before patch and after patch.

it seems its getting weaker... auto rifle got nerfed?

i also dead from misadventure again and again when throwing nades. self-damage from grenade got buffed? O_O

335 a couple days ago. So, less than two weeks? 3 raids (and Golgoroth a 4th time since I only needed boots). And that was with some procrastination and bad RNG. The last holdout for me ended up being boots, and I ended up getting those via an exotic engram that dropped while playing crucible. The thing about boots is you cant get them from any strike.

Using strikes to go for a piece you need actually worked OK, the cloak and boots was my last two, and I did strikes partly for my faction quest but also to go for the cloak. Anyways in 9 strikes I got 3 drops (two cloaks from undying Mind, one 334 one 335, and a 335 Bretomarts stand.). Like everything else, strike specific drops appear to be quite generous now. Once you are 334 I believe drops can be either 334 or 335. Now that I'm 335 everything has so far dropped 335 so I think that's how it works.

With 1:1 infusion and such generous drops, it wont be long before I lack nothing much at 335. So I do fear the new system will cause people to loser interest faster. Myself I dont mind I just play Crucible more in such times.

Now that I'm 335 I will probably raid once per week, or not at all. Exotics can supply most of my needs. Just the shell/cloak/artifact are outside exotics, and I'm already pretty good in those areas.

Edit: Apparently you get light correlated loot in IB drops too. I've got two Tormonds Bellows drop already at level 1, I'm playing as a 334, one was 334 and one was 335.

That's a pretty big game changer there. Damn, Destiny is crazy easy now. My light level advantage in IB wont last long :(

Today on IB as I predicted I'm seeing a lot of 330+ and even 335. As I predicted, the loot falls like candy anyway now. Playing IB a bit and these people cant help but advance in huge steps. By next IB almost everybody will be 335 I think. Whereas most people never reached even that close to 320. I'm also noticing some loot falling at least 6 above that players level, leading me to believe IB loot falls in a range up to +10 rather than +5 (like challenge mode supposedly in the raid). So it's even more lucrative.

I went ahead and just recently upped my IB loadout to 335. A 335 cloak fell for me finishing it off.

Well, the good part is once again every relevant gun will be pretty easy to max, so you wont have to juggle weapons based on light level, and will be able to take whatever you want. At least eventually.

OTOH I see not much reason to do any PVE. You can just live off 3oC infusion/crucible etc.

The real goal of the game now for me seems to be to get judgement and vanguard rep. Both of these you cant "buy" like faction rep. And I want a Longbow, a Yr2 Badger, a...whatever the high impact scout from HOJ is called. But it's pretty hard to advance these factions, particularly HOJ. At least VG you can pop a booster and run strikes.

I just am not sure this endgame will keep most people interested. OTOH I guess Bungie revamps their loot systems every single time, so might as well give "loot falling like candy" a go. May please some people that have never been able to max light before.

I think it was too hard to reach 320 but this is the opposite extreme.

Down to 750 in the quest for 1.0 k/d...last IB I picked up almost 200...this one isn't looking that lucrative but my goal is to have it down to at least 700 (was 800 going in)

Loot is better, but not that good. I played like six games and got one reward. The difference is mainly that it is all IB gear and all your light level. No more engrams and no more 275 junk.

Yeah, I dont think it's really dropping that much more, but for me it all drops at 334/335 which is pretty crazy. Even I see like, 327's getting 335 stuff.

It's good though, I dont really have to feel like I should be raiding or something. I get just as much infusion fodder from this (especially when crucible is the fastest way to use 3oC).

I've gotten multiple 334/335 Tormond's Bellow's, Hakkon's Hatchets, a 335 cloak, and I think some armor although I cant remember...since I did not have a ton of 335 heavy or primary it's welcome infusion fodder.

1/6 ain't bad. I played like 18 matches and I already got 335 boots, RL and AR, as well as 333 boots.

I'll probably only get one guy to rank 5. Already rank ~2 3/4 and I still haven't handed in my weekly bounties (saving them for last day to get max rep).

Definitely gonna buy the vendor AR and RL... both have very good rolls. The AR and RL that dropped for me are almost as good but not quite.

Yeah I just noticed that RL roll! I was thinking he had nothing.

It has an inventory stat of only 20, but the combo of Tripod and Field Scout may be able to push it to 3 on pickup with +heavy boots.

Compared to my other "mega ammo" legendary, The Smolder (which I assume picks up 3 these days too as RL ammo was nerfed again), it's WAY better, has like double the velocity and slightly more blast radius too. So, hopefully if it picks up 3, it will be my new go to legendary RL (I haven't used RL in a good while).

If it only picks up two, then I have several launchers with near ideal stats that pick up 2 that would be better (My JLB, Vertigo)

Dont think I'll make rank 4 tonight so I'll have to check it tmrw.

Really want a yr2 Badger or Judgements Hand to play with. No luck so far :(

Edit: yup, Redditt already took the fun out of it as I knew they would, the Bellows with that roll should pick up 3, with or without +Rocket boots, which is the PVP max.

Definitely a must have, then.

ironbanner is a chore as usual and i keep getting flooded by blue engrams. blargh.
CoE now too much of a chore to be done solo. Last week's modifier was nice for solo :D

btw the Taken Archon Priest strike. LOL even bungie doesnt bother to explain the story anymore

Ghost says something like: "Wait. Isnt the archon already...."

lol

yes ghost, the archon already dead. and dead people cannot be taken. but nevertheless, here we meet the taken archon priest. you confused? me too ghost.

I have got three 335 butt curtains, but I'd like more weapon rolls and a ghost or two. I'll keep plugging away for rep, but I do not like the mode. I have given up winning one on one with weapons and just go full bull in a China shop with shoulder charge. Works great indoors, not so much on Widows Court.
