Destiny [PS3,X360,PS4,XO]

I got a nice sniper in nightfall...Broken Truth LR1 legendary...solar. Never heard of it. But the roll? Firefly, Field Scout (6 in the mag), and something called Performance Bonus which says something like kills grant additional ammo or something, so even more ammo....what a killer roll that's a keeper.

Also got a nice solar LMG, 87 mag, but it has "surplus" perk which grants additional heavy drops when equipped (dont have experience with this perk but sounds awesome). The gun just works nice already. It's kinda odd to me how some weapons seem much worse than their stats and vice versa. For example my "The Culling" with the 150 mag with field scout, for whatever reason just seems like crap in use, even though IIRC it's stats are pretty identical to Ir Yut. In contrast old 300 Corrective Measure is still a beast.

And Mida is finally almost maxed, one circle away. As is Red Death (which I will probably never use again, if I use any exotic primary I forsee it being Mida or even Suros as they're just fun). After that maybe I'll do Patience and Time to complete my uber bladedancer (with even more invisibility).

I need to do a complete inventory of my 7 trillion guns. Pretty sure I have enough to equip even my 3rd now with elemental specials and heavies for any burn, possibly excepting primaries which I'm a little short on (only have 3 solar primaries, but not 3 arc or void yet). That Vault space cant come soon enough. Although switching to mostly independent guns on all characters helped immensely.

All characters are done with nightfall, weekly (2) and bounties. The rest of the week is free, with the intention being mostly VoG, because I am super short on ascendant energy still. Have like 21 now, and that's with intentionally not using much lately (I usually just upgrade weapons to 294 lately, then fill out the remaining circles that require energy but dont initiate them). That way they're ready when I get/decide to use more energy and on what.

Also found another cool cloak from a drop...it's named "all my victims". Looks nice. That's 2/3 with good cloaks now. My other has that metallic wolf cloak most hunters use thats too shiny and tacky really. Maybe I'll buy another Deadzone Revolution for him, dunno.

House of Wolves gear leak video

Looks like 39 light gear (so, level 33) will be sold again from vendors...

The Vanguard weaponry looks quite nice, a scout with firefly and a hand cannon with a 12 mag.

Tentative dates, HoW=May 19, Comet=Sep 8. Nothing unexpected.

Edit: According to a redditor all the perks at least may be placeholders. Evidently they match the same perk's as the current vanguard vendor weapons perfectly.

I wonder what making them take so much time for DLC. The maps is already in game and working fine, heck on kings watch the enemies already working.

I just went through a near two hour VoG run (lot of dying on confluxes)...expressly for energy (and maybe another Aetheons or Fatebringer would be nice) and came away with a grand total of THREE ENERGY. Maddening. I could have done far better running dailies or farming PE's or just...anything. The worst was hearing everybody else moaning at every checkpoint "not more energy! Ahhh I dont want energy!" Etc. Meanwhile I was getting zilch but shards, when I actually WANT the energy. On Atheon I also got...yay, the ship...

I am shocked how hard VoG is in my return. I guess partly people (like me) forgot how to play it, but I figured it'd be a breeze for 32's. Again maybe it's just been my PUG luck so far, but it's been a harsh grind. Mostly just confluxes have been tough guess.

its your bad luck with the team i think... VoG is easy (if you are playing normal) and much less stressful than Crota. Dying is fine, no hair-split timing problem, etc.

Must be rust and/or a bad group. I still run VoG hardmode often and it's pretty easy (easier than Crota hard IMO, which also isn't too difficult if people don't die).

@orangpelupa, would have invited you to raid earlier if you were on, but YumaruChii joined just before you logged on.

I only do hard.

I know I'm not the only one because the "experts" recommend you try for flawless raider on Crota, not VoG.

But yeah probably bad luck, especially with the confluxes. They're the hardest part. The rest is pretty hard to truly fail on.

Crota hard is still a little difficult, mostly on Crota, and it mostly comes down to swordbearer, and they are getting pretty good.

Flawless raider with crota normal is much more quicker than VoG. the abyss part is very fast, the bridge part also fast, the ir yut part a bit long, the crota part only 3 minutes right?

so if you failed, repeating it from start would be less stressful i think. (dunno, have not done flawless raider because im pretty sure the reward will be random)

VoG is more harder than Cropta, and VoG need a more concentrated team, when I'm fall it's automatically due to the thinking is easy 'cause "We're 32!!".

its the reverse for me, crota (hard mode) is much harder because the hair-split timing it needs. One internet blip, and the sword-man will failed.

on VoG, internet-blip is still fine. Yeah it will make Oracles spawn quicker and longer to dead but at least its still manageable (just super them, or call 1 friend to enter portal).

Flawless raider is easier on crota (hence why we chose crota to get the trophy), but the difference between normal/hard is bigger in crota than VoG.

I guess it depends on who you play with. Neither raid is very difficult for me anymore, but crota hardmode is slightly harder IMO. It might not actually be the difficulty level, but because there's more glitches that can totally f*** you over in crota (ie sword disappearing, crota getting up immediately and killing the sword runner, sword bearer wanders, ogres are extremely late, everyone dies even though you kill the deathsinger on time etc.) I mean these things don't happen A LOT, but it causes my team to struggle a bit more compared to VoG (which we can always breeze through).

When I play with crappy teams, the biggest issue with crota is someone always dies, which totally messes it up for everyone (especially if they die when were in the ogre room under the right tower). In VoG, there's no oversoul to deal with, and 3-4 people can carry the team in any section in case a few people die.

"I dont know enough people to attempt a proper raid"=Destinylfg.com/.net (or r/fireteams, the100.io, ec etc).

I mean really pretty much everybody that plays Destiny uses those even if they do have a great clan or whatever. I listen to a couple Destiny podcasts and all these editors who probably have more people to play with than anybody still use the LFG sites. I mean for one thing it means you never have to schedule with other people, it's basically matchmaking with a few more hoops to jump through, so you can play content when you want. So, raid whenever you feel like it.

Raiding is a great part of the Destiny experience, unlike any other. You owe it to yourself to do it. Even better, level 31 is perfect for the Vault of Glass, which is the better raid anyway. It's truly pretty amazing to experience for the first time coming from the base game. Crota normal also wouldn't be a problem for you but I'd def start with VoG, although it's utility would be somewhat limited, just the experience is better imo.

How many strange coins do you have now Shreden? I am around 150, have been for seemingly forever. That's of course with buying whatever exotics I want+telemetries+tons of heavy synth along the way. And I'm only that "low" because for also many weeks now I've artificially restricted myself to two weeklies per week. If I had dutifully done all 3 every week I'd have who knows how many by now. And a weekly takes ten minutes to run through especially now with matchmaking.

In that light, 13 coins for some exotic piece of armor I treasure and could take me who knows how long to RNG, like Mask of The Third Man a while back, is essentially zero cost to me. It's free, basically.

I guess I already empathized a bit with the plight of the single character player like you in my other post. That's why I was thinking of a sliding scale for coins give in the weekly, fewer characters would get more coins per weekly.
Oh I have more than one character. There just not as high level as my hunter.

You can have more internet-blip in Atheon than only Oracles spawn quicker, on Templar you have ramdon quick TP of the templar, double or triple shield and/or relic carrier passthrough the shield when hit it so Die&Retry, Oracle who spawn you in the other side when you hit them or immortal oracle so Die&Retry. Master of key sometime he's immortal, On portal you have on Venus, TP of the Minotaur at the start so no time to kill it and generally it kill people or you lose time, Portal TP so you go to one other planet, or stay where you are and be blind, return to VoG but blind and no curse possibly. Atheon got many flaw connections that is more difficult to made it without one death in the squad.
Crota can have internet interference in the end, and sometime is really impossible to down it, also on normal with experiment team.

Remember if the carrier of relic or sword is the leader this can limit internet interference for him, but not all.

what is quicj TP?

about shield bug, we already accustomed so we work around it. use R2 to safely kill the shield, dont firr rocket before shield come etc.

about oracle, we read the kill notification.

what is master of key?

about minotaurs.. are they really a problem? they are very easy to kill.

about portal. if you pass to it ONE BY ONE the porta' never bugs out.

about cleanse, just hold it long.

i guess because i live in a country with shitty internet, we just adapt and use workarounds

TP= teleportation
Shield= R2 is the Only solution to hit shield for the relic man (others are to slow) but you can passthrough shield and die, to limit this, simple jump+R2 and target the ground just near the shield, same for hitting oracles.
Portals CAN bug also if you pass ONE BY ONE… in center and in walking (don't test in walk moon, maybe the solution ;) ) But they can also work great with people running through at same…
The Minotaur in Venus can be TP to you at you arrival so no time to kill it fast, and he probably kill one if forgotten this bug and you lost time for the oracle in all scenarios.

Your not the one to live in country with some shitty internet connections, the problem is you never know if there are problem or not and this can arrived in a middle of the raid, so a part of Hazard. ;)

i never got that problem with portal and minotaur. Maybe our play style did not evoke the bug.

our play style is simply throw gjalahorn at them.

And Mida is finally almost maxed, one circle away.
I maxed my mida out Wednesday. I am a Scout Rifle fanatic and the Mida is my favorite. The sound it makes is badass like a Nail gun. I do wish it had a bit better range though like Another Nitc or Badger CCL. The speed perks are amazing though. I need a Legendary Void sniper rifle as well as a replacement for my Solar sniper that has a max damage of 300. I have One legendary rocket launcher of each elemental damage type and the same with my 3 machine guns.

Yeah me too, I haven't been in love with the feel of a primary like Mida since Suros. But now they kinda nerfed Suros which took the shine off it...whenever I find a primary I'm in love with it reenergizes the whole game for me.

I've been spending really copious amounts of time trying to arm all my three characters (and fully level all those), now it occured to me maybe I should just focus on creating one weapon set and just trade them (IE, instead of 3 fully leveled void snipers one for each character, just one, and so forth).

I mean it wouldn't be ideal, but it would save obscene amounts of time. Of course it'd leave me with essentially no "chores" left, for better or worse. Because then not only would I not need some VoG weapons 2x or 3x times, I also wouldn't really need energy which is the main reason I've been running VoG.

I guess the reason this came to mind is I suddenly realized I'm spending so much time upgrading guns (doing bounties, running VoG hard 3X per week for energy), and they're all gonna be worthless when the attack cap goes to 365 with HoW in a few weeks.

This actually made me glad hopefully we wont have to re-level exotics in HoW though, an issue I was torn on before (which I always am anytime a change makes the game easier). I'd like SOME of my effort leveling guns to be permanent! especially given how incredibly long exotics take to level.

i usually just level them up to unlock the perks. full-unlock is just too long and i dont really get the intrigue

I was lucky to get a Crypt Dweller SR1 Scout 2 months ago with Who's Next, Explosive Rounds*/High Caliber/Flared Magwell and Firefly. Same ROF and Impact as MIDA but with 12 mag, a bit more range, slightly less stability and 80% of reload speed which Who's Next lifts to 120%.

Great light feeling weapon which is lightning quick on shots/reload so the smaller mag can be ignored. Though EP and Firefly perks at the same time are not "working" consistently it allows you to spam the enemies with both effects which are effective against NFs mobs. I also have the option to switch to the stagger perk like MIDA or even reach 150% reload. If you manage to get a similar roll, keep it. The weapon is more than it appears and my legendary MIDA replacement.

About the HoW weapon/armor obsolescence. I've been already collecting rewards for a few weeks to cash in when HoW hits so there's a chance my effort isn't completely wasted. Wouldn't have the vault space for any more weapon equipment anyway.
