Dark Souls

Got into some PvP in Anor Londo... some people are really cheap. Fought an invader who used the slow down spell and the fog ring. Talk about lame...

Yeah, you do get that a lot. The popular way to farm souls in the Darkroot Garden is
to have one visible player to lure the phantoms close, and another player using the Ring of Fog waiting to ambush you as soon as you attack the visible player.

And I just killed a player and got almost 150000 souls for it. I wasn't aware that invading through that covenant could count as a sin, because that player apparently used an indictment against me. What hell kind of sore loser are you when your going to indict people you were trying to kill for soul farming. And looking at his armor,
a Black Knight set,
you can't acquire until close to the end of the game, he must have been a way higher level then me. Noobs.

The patch sounds great. I can't wait to try it.

Does it say when I'll be receiving my updated official guide in the mail?

Looking at all the changes I have to say it's a rather curious patch. They changed a ton of stuff. And they needed to because of how incredibly unbalanced some things were. The Antiquated Skirt for example offered better protection than some of the heaviest armors in the game, while itself being one of the lightest.

Of course everyone who has only limited resources to spend upgrading weapons and armor is only going to upgrade the best ones. Which makes it highly likely that it's the same ones that are being nerfed now. And now suddenly they are being generous with rare upgrade materials, increasing drop rates, and putting some up for sale.

It all seems like they rushed an unfinished product out the door, and they all know it. Much of the official guide is now useless. And a lot of people are going need to adjust their characters they spend a lot of hours building to all these changes. It's a big mess that could have been avoided had they simply delayed the game.

I think they want to make it easy for people to upgrade their damage. Melee is seriously underpowered compared to magic and pyro.

No patch yet. So I thought I might as well make the most of my Hollow Soldier Shield while it's still good. I broke my covenant.:devilish:
I visited Shiva one last time. Bought another 3 Washing Pole's. (Which are awesome.) Killed him and his ninja, who was kind enough to wait until I killed Shiva before making a move. Got my Dark Wood Grain Ring. (Also awesome.) Went back to the kitty cat and got yelled at by her. Killed Pharis for her bow. (Which isn't awesome because my Long Bow out damages it at +10 with 21 dex. But more dex and the upcoming patch should fix that.)
And now I still have plenty of souls to either request absolution for my sins, or just upgrade a ton of stuff that more useful after the patch.

Well I killed
Pharis
and he fell off the cliff so I didn't get any loot from him. The
invisible knight
also went missing with him. 8^(

She does have an annoying habit of running away. I had to lure her back from the cliff several times. So they didn't respawn?

Once they are dead they stay that way. The bow isn't that great anyway compared to the Dragon Bows you will inevitably get your hands on later. Only downside is the expensive arrows, but at that point in the game souls shouldn't be hard to come by anymore.

Apparently the 1.04 patch, that's already out in japan, has broken the MP. So they'll need another patch to fix that. I imagine it's going to take bit longer before we get a proper patch that has the new gameplay balancing without breaking the MP.

Heh heh, I better kill more bosses with pyro first. 8^P

Yes, that's the bow I set my eyes on.

The Mind Behind Dark Souls: A journey into the mentality of Dark Souls with director Hidetaka Miyazaki.
http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1211926p1.html

Hidetaka Miyazaki is not a man who particularly likes being interviewed. He's perfectly personable, but also quiet and pretty intense, and he really doesn't like cameras. This wasn't much of a problem before Demon's Souls came out, when he was the director of a minor Asia-only game shooting for moderate success. But then that game took off across the world, propelled by a tidal wave of fan and critical adoration, and spawned a sequel that has rudely shoved his studio FROM Software into the spotlight as one of the most brave and unusual developers out there, not to mention a striking ambassador for creativity in the Japanese games industry. Suddenly, everyone wants a piece of him.

"The attention can be pressuring – it's about a 50/50 combination of troubling and exciting," says Miyazaki, asked how he's adapting to all this sudden attention. "The pressure is like a muscle ache after you train: it's painful, but it's satisfying to know that you're growing. In that way I'm really enjoying it."

Don't know where to go next bosses I've defeated the gaping dragon with help but only sl22 should I continue downward?
