Dark Souls

The dragon should have dropped the entrance key to Blight Town straight into your inventory. (or you can do it the way a friend of mine did: he defeated the Gaping Dragon, got the key, didn't find the right door, and accidentally entered Blight Town via the Valley of the Drakes regardless.)

Hm... once you're in the Lower Depth, there is no way to go back up except to enter Blighttown right ? At least I couldn't find the exit back to Upper Depth. Missed a small section because
I fell into one of those holes.

You can go back from the Lower Depths to the Upper Depths. I've done it quite a few times.
Your supposed to fall down after you defeat the Giant Rat. But there is a shortcut leading back up that can only be opened after you fall down.

Hmph, I tried to go back from the Lower Depth bonfire several times but failed. Anyway, I'm way past that point. Will probably revisit later to farm stuff, and look for the missing section.

Don't know where to go next bosses I've defeated the gaping dragon with help but only sl22 should I continue downward?

Blighttown should be next. It looks tough at first, but you can prevail after removing enemies that don't respawn. Lot's of loot in there too.

You guys are lucky that I'm as far as I am, else I would be spoiler'ing you! :p

In other news, I beat the game. Spoilers (plot) related to that follow:

Yeah - so after beating Gwynn I was wandering around the area and accidentally walked down a side passage.... which triggered a completely unexpected and un-pursued end game sequence. WTH? Should this even have been possible for my game, or was it a glitch? I had certainly failed to get any deeper/alternative plot lines going, but nevertheless, in my ending I plunged the world into darkness with no backstory or warning to go with it. Ugh. This IMO was a legitimate glitch with the game, whether literal or not, that I could even trigger this ending. On the plus side, the research I felt all too justified in doing afterward led me to the knowledge that there is a very deep and hidden plotline at play... I totally missed it, but I am glad to know it's there. I didn't spoiler it *too* much for myself, so maybe this next go-around I can dig a little deeper into it.

Yeah... I heard about the hidden plot too, but the problem with discussing end game spoiler with you is you would want to uncover the truth in NG+ yourself. :devilish:

EDIT: What SL are you at now ? and what class ?

Well, I don't think there's anything to spoil or not at this point... either I'll succeed or I won't this go around, and if not, then I'll just go 100% research/spoiler following that. Or maybe I'll start a new game/character.

SL 83 right now at the start of HG+, class Wanderer.

Having a hard time getting past the guys with the clubs once I drop down..maybe I need to farm and level up some more.

Got caught by another brtual design choice and my incompetance last night. We went to the shop to stock up on arrows (the first shop you come across) and I accidentally pressed R1 instead of X, which I often do in this game. I accidentally hit the shop keeper and he starts fighting me. I run off and rest at a fire and come back, and he's gone. So no more arrows for my would-be ranger-type character, not because of a considered action on my part but a wrong button press, and no remedy. Could really have done with requiring a few hits before the NPCs react (not taking damage until they enter fight mode) to avoid such accidents. Didn't even kill the guy and rob him, so I got absolutely nothing from that. :(

There is a way to make NPC's you've attacked, but not killed, friendly again.

Ooo, how? He's disappeared and we really need him back!

You need to find an NPC called Oswald of Carim. You can find him in the Undead Parish after you defeat the Belfry Gargoyles. Request Absolution from him. I'm not sure, but it might cost you a lot of souls. 2000 times your current soul level I think. It should be 500 times your SL after the patch, but that might be a while.

Yeah, they are a b*tch to handle especially on a narrow platform. :(
Good thing is you don't usually have to fight them in Blighttown.

I might have made the same mistake as you (bad ending). I suicided immediately after making the wrong move/decision accidentally. I don't know if my future is sealed. Hopefully not !

I completed
Sen's Fortress, Undead Asylum (revisited), Anor Londo, and Catacomb
today. Will visit
the painted world next
. I think I will know my fate in
New Londo Ruins
(Some new character should show up).
