So they even admit they have a memory leak type performance issue in this game and not even try to fix it?Patch 1.05 PC-specific notes (patch not live yet on PC)
- Removed the memory_pool_budgets.csv file. which was not connected with the final version of the game and had no influence on it (it was a leftover file used during the development to estimate memory usage. It had no effect on how much memory was actually allocated). Perceived performance increase after editing the file may have been related to restarting the game.
Doom is analogous because it came out on PC, and all of the console versions were cut down in some cases so much that it's almost unrecognizable. SNES DooM is very much like Cyberpunk on Xbox One. Jaguar/32x DooM is like PS4Pro/XOX. Playable, missing some stuff, and lower fidelity. PS1 Doom is like PS5/XSX. Pretty good, better than low end PC but not as good as high end. Saturn DooM is like base PS4 CP2077. It should be playable, but somehow, not so much.
How did you extrapolate a memory leak issue from that patch note?So they even admit they have a memory leak type performance issue in this game and not even try to fix it?
I tested and verified it. The games performance gets progressively worse and that is fixed by restarting the gameHow did you extrapolate a memory leak issue from that patch note?
You're right, the last sentence in the note definitely implies it as well.I tested and verified it. The games performance gets progressively worse and that is fixed by restarting the game
I guess we now know why it runs bad on all platforms
It doesnt run bad on all platforms
Does it look good? The amount of bugs on the PC version is actually shocking imo. They must have picked up on at least 50% of these while playing through the game on PC so why was this game released in this state? It's also not decent on AMD CPU's and needed the mod community to sort out the CPU bug issues. Has CDPR released a new version of the game yet that fixes this? There is no denying the PC version looks good with proper hardware and runs decent from most reports. I think the main issue was CDPR purposely hiding console code, performance and review keys from the gaming media on trying to meet a silly Metacritic score. This type of behavior is definitely scummy and CDPR management only have themselves to blame.
I think it's an ok game, it's not GOTY material that most people were expecting it to be on PC.
Except I remember in August during Gamescom 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 won Best Sony PlayStation Game. That's people reacting to a game this was never played before on the PlayStation.Aside from this game, no GOTY has released since the switch to next gen. Lets hope for a better 2021.
So many gamers demanded refunds from distributors this week that they overwhelmed Sony’s customer service representatives and even briefly took down one of its corporate sites. In response, Sony and Microsoft said they would offer full refunds to anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 through their online stores; Sony even pulled the title.
Inside CD Projekt Red, it was a very different story. Developers were increasingly concerned with some of the grand promises being made by management on the promotional marketing tour. Far into the game’s development, former employees said, the hyper-customizable and endlessly explorable world being sold to players was nowhere close to manifesting.
On Glassdoor, a site where people can rate their previous employers, current and former CD Projekt Red workers said there was chaos behind the scenes: Office rumors spreading on Discord servers, misleading deadlines set by managers, infighting among the company’s top brass, and incompetence and poor planning leading to unnecessary “crunch,” a term for overworking employees to produce games under a tight deadline. Longtime engineering staff left the company as a result of overwork.
The immediate future looks dark for Cyberpunk’s makers — perhaps even darker than the future they built in Night City. Refund requests are pouring in by the thousands. Lawyers and investors in Warsaw are circling the situation, contemplating a class-action lawsuit against the company for what one attorney described as potential criminal “misrepresentation in order to receive financial benefits.” Many gamers are swearing off playing Cyberpunk entirely until the company fixes all of the problems.
NEW YORK, Dec. 18, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP announces an investigation of potential securities claims on behalf of shareholders of CD Projekt S.A. (OTC: OTGLY, OTGLF) (the “Company”) resulting from allegations that CD Projekt may have issued materially misleading information to their shareholders and investing public.
