*Confirmed* Original Crysis Bound for *PS360

Meh. I'd be more inclined to say the fog-enveloped island is better looking than in the original release; unless I was a fanboy of course, where-upon I'd point out how that's just a convenient way to hide detail and raise the framerate. But I'm not so I won't. :p

Oh, I meant "disparity" between the plane being lit up and the island being dark. Didn't mean to say anything about the two versions. (I do like the newer look :p ).

You're in the minority then. But I do have to ask this: Did you actually play it? In my experience, most of the people who say it wasn't very good never actually played it.

What? Why would someone bash a game they haven't played?

I have played it, on Max DX10 no less at a good frame rate(Albeit with a low resolution due to my graphics card and monitor). It looked very pretty. It played below average. Far Cry was better. Crysis has an aimless feel to the mechanics, Far Cry was much, much tighter feeling.

Welcome to the internet.. you must be new here. :p

I find this whole argument extremely funny, to be honest, especially the ones that are saying that the cutbacks on the Xbox actually make it look better. This is never gonna end.

Wow pc gamers complaining like always;)

Console to pc port complain.
Now with pc and very late port to console they complain as well.
See it like a extra funding for a crysis 3 with more pc support.

I find the parts where opposing viewpoints get grossly misrepresented or dismissed based on incorrect assumptions to be much funnier!

It looks mighty fine for dl only PC port thats bargain of a deal;)
I would much rather worry about performances on console than having less grass or lower resolution textures(although I have to point out that textures on that fugly picture in the plane look like tex streaming bug).

This port is hitting some PC gamers in the nads. Crysis; the final bastion of PC elitist exclusive AAA bullshit.

I wish I had a 360 because I'd dig being able to check this out. My bro will have to do the investigation though. I don't pick up consoles until they are long forgotten and uber cheap. :D

On the PC it's a stealth island, console gamers need to be able to see the island so they can hit it with a joypad lol etc
lol. Well I did try Crysis PC with my 360 pad and it while it mapped the buttons nicely automatically, I couldn't hit anything because the auto aim was too weak and/or my gamepad shooter skills have deteriorated badly.

Can the game be ported to Vita ?

EDIT: WiiU port should be a piece of cake right (?) since they have ported to PS360.

Have you seen Far Cry on Wii? Oh man..... It's like DirectX 7 edition.

err. O u meant WiiU. :D

Yes, those newer platforms are still wide open, not FPS crowded yet. ^_^

Also, what online system does the game use (if any) ?

Those screen can still say crysis takes place on a tropical island.
Not complaining and i will double dip it just to support those insane guys at crytek wishing 8g in next gen consoles. :p

Do you mean online play?
Dont think they have online in it.

Only thing impressive is the price, but the game is super old and has to be with no MP.

I'm not impressed with the graphics at all after seeing how terrible Crysis 2 was.The vegetation looks worse than BFBC2,has terrible animations, very poor textures, blurry sub hd, and the worse framerate this gen it seems.Basically the only thing standing out in Crysis 2 was lens flares that Blops does the same at double the framerate.

I get that many here are very tech-oriented, but I can't see the fuss about some trees and grass missing(which I think is a fair compromise for a game which was deemed impossible for the 360/PS3)...

DOOM 3 on the Xbox had worse graphics and some areas removed and others totally streamlined, but I still loved every minute of it and still do, even compared to the PC version(which I played afterwards)...
I have no doubt that Crysis 1 will be great on consoles and what made it Crysis still will be there, even if some vegetation is removed

While in principle this should be true, it simply isn't the case. Console gamers care just as much about graphics as PC gamers, possibly even more. Just look at the fuss console gamers kick up over the tiniest differences between 360 and PS3 versions. A few pixels less horizontal resolution. MSAA vs no MSAA, a couple of fps less, a missing shadow etc... All these differences are tiny compared to the differences displayed here.

If these where PS3 vs 360 comparisons the fall out would be epic, but just because it's a PC to console comparison the differences are 'minor' and 'don't matter'.

On the up side you are totally correct that it's good that more people will get to experience this excellent game. Far too many people trashed it out of jealousy and maybe they'll be more willing to give it a go now. It may not be to some peoples tastes but regardless of what the minority think, it IS an excellent game and deserves to be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

And again for the record, most people never said anything about Crysis being impossible on the consoles. Only that Crysis would be impossible with the same level of fidelity as the PC version and that absolutely has not changed. This is no different to Gears of War 3 or Uncharted 3 being done on the Wii. Both are possible, just with a reduced level of graphics as is the case here. I'll bet there wouldn't be many PS360 gamers claiming it to be the same experience as their console version if that were to happen though.

Lmao... It is no where near high/very high...

Do you have a different set of videos or something?

Can You elaborate what this screen lacks from high and very high mode, except some foliage which it lacks in comparison to all PC settings?

I've proved that LOD is similar to high, sometimes to very high,
godrays, tonemapping as i remember, are exclusive to very high and both are in console version
also POM, which will probably be lacking in console version, but You can see that they simulate it with geometry [tire mark texture and small rocks]
SSAO, its absent in medium and we know that CE 3 ssao implementation is better than CE 2 from papers.
Object motion blur - high lacks it, its in console version
DOF - medium lacks it, high has quite bad one [here] and CE 3 simulates bokeh even on consoles
textures are high quality mostly
+ deferred rendering that enchance night gameplay and indoors
- shadow quality, probably smth between med and high, but closer to med
refraction and transparency of suit in stealth mode, glass etc is also better handled in CE 3

So tell me, why do You still think it look like low+med? Because i dont get it.
Post some proofs.
