For certain experiences like dancing, fitness or active sports there's nothing that comes close to beating it, but for other games it's not a great fit. Just another tool. Seems like you think interface?
Yeah, 1 to 1 tracking motion games are obviously the killer app for these kinds of sensors. Anything that requires using them to interact with virtual gameworlds turns into an awkward experience. Hence why the tech never branched out beyond said games no matter how many times people say people say it will happen. And also there is that critical issue with time/effort to input, i.e. Flail my arms around at air or slightly move my finger.
IMO, unless its a tech I can use to replace standard input devices then its an addon gimmick that could just be bundled with dance or fit shovelware.
Not sure how you can say the experience WILL be better when the system isn't even out yet. Why couldn't the Android or iOS platforms offer the same or better experiences, especially when they have a larger ecosystem then embedded windows platforms? You don't need super powerful hardware to run entertainment apps/services beyond an ARM SoC.but MS will have a better experience. Better tools & better software than any of those electronics companies can do. It may no longer be the only option, but you won't get the exact same experience.
