Burnout 360

Well all i can say is that they do have a Burnout look, and they are at a perfect 720p resolution so it very well could be. Wanna see some crazy next gen particles though :D

EDIT: Oh, didn't see Mmmmkay post.

seeing those limited pics, wants me to to see more. nice dirty cars!

I like dirty rendering . oh and whats with the bloom lightning? is this the lensflare effect of nextgen?

Far more AA there than I have ever seen on the 360.

you need to see Kameo then ;)

As for these pics, I'm not really impressed. I'll more than likely be getting it though, Burnout is awesome!

I don't like them too much either. I only way I can forgive Crieton is if the game has HUGE amounts of physics in it. The physics would have to be as heavy as that Sega driving shoot'em up game. Can't remember the name though.

Oh and 60 fps!!

If this game really is great looking and not a quick-slap-together I think I just found a reason to pick up an Xbox 360  (like I needed more than Gears of War, but still...) Burnout is really fun even on a "lowly" PS 2. More physics and even better graphics and "woooohoooo! Boost, baby! BOOOOOOOOST!" *hair flies back + major race-face *

I hope its running at 60fps, thats for sure. PGR3 looks much more impressive imo. Then again, PGR3 doesnt have damage. :devilish: it will be interesting on seeing how the damge looks more realistic compared to the current gen consoles, if any difference at all.

Yes, without a doubt. Lens flare is out, bloom is in

As a games/graphics programmer myself I've had chats with more than enough developers who agree with the same thing, but they still put it in because it's expected. It's just, like, so last-year if you don't have bloom...

I wouldn't expect anything too amazing until the 2nd generation of 360/PS3 titles. Sure, it'll probably look a bit better that current stuff - but from what I've heard a lot of developers are just throwing bigger and better versions of current algorithms at a meatier piece of hardware.

It's not until they've been able to get a feel for the hardware and learnt it's strengths/weaknesses that they'll start to develop some seriously cool stuff that really uses the hardware.

Another way of thinking about it is to realise that many developers didn't have the luxury of dropping everything and working on the current 360 titles. They still had (have?) XBOX and PS2 projects on the go, and still had to pay the bills whilst co-developing 360 stuff - less budget, less resources etc...

I have seen Kameo and my comment was made with respect to that.

Don't judge the quality of a final retail game to a demo on a kiosk with a crappy LCD ;)

There are practically no jaggies in Kameo on my native 720p display... Now COD2 on the other hand... *shudder*

I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing. Once the initial "look at me!" factor wears off and this effect is used in a more subdued manner, it will help generate some life in what may otherwise be very boring geometry.

I think Age of Empires III is a pretty good example of this. It might still be on the bright side, but it certainly doesn't yell out so loud you cannot see the rest.

I think FarCry on the XBOX pretty much did all you can do with Bloom lighting, I hope they move on to something a little better pretty quickly.

I don't mind blooming if it's done well, but as for example in these pictures the "blooming" makes everything hazy, it looks like you're viewing everything through a slightly smeared glasses putting a foggy halo effect around virtually every edge.
Those pics look ugly and very this gen. I do hope they are not representing what a next gen Burnout is going to look like.
