yeah, but i was kinda hoping for something like microsoft displayed a while back.JHoxley said:I wouldn't expect anything too amazing until the 2nd generation of 360/PS3 titles. Sure, it'll probably look a bit better that current stuff - but from what I've heard a lot of developers are just throwing bigger and better versions of current algorithms at a meatier piece of hardware.

There are practically no jaggies in Kameo on my native 720p display... Now COD2 on the other hand... *shudder*
I've noticed this - Some of the stuff i've been working on might help people with this. HDRI is notoriously difficult to get "right" - all the atomic steps are very simple, but there are a lot of parameters involved. Lots of parameters and lots of steps make it difficult to get it to just work.I don't mind blooming if it's done well, but as for example in these pictures the "blooming" makes everything hazy, it looks like you're viewing everything through a slightly smeared glasses putting a foggy halo effect around virtually every edge.
Yeah, I remember that video. It rockedBad_Boy said:yeah, but i was kinda hoping for something like microsoft displayed a while back.

remember the car crash videos?
too be honest, ill be kinda disapointed if we dont get something around that this gen (meaning before the 360 and ps3 cycle ends), that video was a long while ago. but if any game can do it, its burnout

Bad_Boy said:I hope its running at 60fps, thats for sure. PGR3 looks much more impressive imo. Then again, PGR3 doesnt have damage. it will be interesting on seeing how the damge looks more realistic compared to the current gen consoles, if any difference at all.
lol. i think you know what kind of damage im talking about.blakjedi said:PGR3 does have damage. Visible damage too except when it comes to headlamps.
Here you can find some examples of x4aa. It would be nice if Kameo did have x4aa and it would rock if x4aa looked as smooth as what is showen in those Burnout shots, but that simply isn't the case. The vast majorty of the Kameo shots I have seeen are clearly jazzed up compared to what you get actually playing the game, and I'm sure the same goes for these shots of Burnout.Tim said:The Xbox 360 has three options for AA: none, 2x and 4x (with fixed samples), the burnout screenshot has 4x AA - the same as Kameo.

Again your shot is a bit small and far away to make any reasonable estamtion of how much AA is there, but there are clearly jaggies to be seen in that shot. The lamp post back on the left is one of the more obvious spots.Hardknock said:Hey I don't know how to explain the disparity between what we're playing and what you're playing. But Kameo clearly has a high amount of AA from what I'm playing. Here's a picture from a CRT monitor, also I've posted zoomed in pics of walls with no jaggies in sight at all:

It isn't something someone has to stare at a pause screen to see if you have playing PC games with AA for years then the lack of it is quite obvious. Yeah going from HL:2 on an Xbox surely rendered at 640x480 to CoD2 on a 360 running 1280x720 is a huge step up reguardless, but for many of us who are accustomed to better it just isn't quite there yet.c0_re said:I don't even see how people notice jaggies on 360, I was playing HL:2 on Xbox the other day on noticed a TON of jaggies I mean everywhere. Then I poped in COD:2 and didn't notice a single jaggy anywhere, I don't know if you poeple are pausing your games and looking for jaggies or what I just doin't see them on 360 during gameplay unless I spend all day looking for them, I play games not stare at the pause screen looking for jaggies.

Edit*
Wow, I just realized how far off course this thread has gone with a bunch of pictures of Kameo while the topic is Burnout. My comment on the AA in the shots was directed specificly at Burnout as I curious as to what we can really expect of that game, there is another thread that in this forum that is far better suited for general discussion of AA on the 360.
