Looking at the pictures that el_rika did post i seems that Resident evil models match those of Mgs4 in therm's of polygons at least head models. the skin texturs even seems too be in the same level. But MGS4 seems too have a edge in hair polygons.
I did read somewhere that Snakes "snort" braker has more polygons than the entire Snake model in MGS3.
That was in the first Snake model - I believe they toned down the polys in his tash for the final game.
In MGS4's defense, Meryl has a really bad haircut.
That's not actually Snake's final model (nor Naomi's or Meryl's).

Hit and miss situations like all games. Though it sure looks like it weights a ton!

Er, RE5 hero characters seem to have almost double the poly count of MGS4 models. Texture res is better, too.
How do you reckon? 2x the polygons ?
We need a picture comparison. Chris's just looks like bunches of painted hair. Drake's has more textures in it.
