Battlefield 2: Modern Combat 360 info + Screens

bump with gamespot impressions. As an owner of what i saw as a very unimpressive, laggy, and poorly coded PC version, i am a bit jealous and i feel a bit cheated. As if the PC version were a beta test.

Of course, the biggest change to Modern Combat in the move to the 360 will obviously be on the technical end. The game is getting a complete visual overhaul--which should be apparent in our new HD gameplay footage. This will include the replacement of all the original game's art assets, from textures and character models to the levels themselves, with more highly detailed versions. The various factions will all have specific character models now, for instance, and each character class will have visibly unique weapons loadouts. The new character models even have a "war face" of sorts--when they bear down with a heavy weapon, you'll see them snarling or gritting their teeth in the heat of battle.

Look for the Xbox version's downloadable content to be included in the box this time around, as well.
The physics in the game have also been heavily upgraded. Almost all objects in the environment are now physically modeled, down to individual bullet casings, which should give the frenzied military action a more believable appearance. Even the ragdoll physics have been enhanced to give downed soldiers more realistic weighting and momentum. Lastly, as you'd expect on the 360, the visuals are full of the sort of lighting and other post-processing effects that give it a next-gen look that's drastically improved over the original

"it's pretty obvious that this will be the definitive version of the game once it's finished and released in a few weeks. "

few weeks???

Also is the "definitive version" comparing it to the Xbox version, or the PC? :p

Actually, I don't thing there is an error or that his hand goes through the clip at all. Look at the real picture of the rifle and where the body becomes larger as you work back down the body towards the clip, now look where his hand is in the picture, just at the start of where the body expands, looking at the real picture of the rifle again it looks like there is enough room to fit a hand in the in front of the clip.

Personally, I don't think there's a problem in that picture at all, which is good as I think that collision detection and preventing things such as clipping should be one of the biggest issues with all upcoming games, with the improvement in graphics and physics there's nothing to stop you "suspending your disbelief" like watching a body pass through the floor or a wall...

no GIAN TITS = EA can kiss them too...

I'm afraid xbox360 will see more and more PC ports... and thats someting i dont like.

let me dare to admit.... yes ;) and since i turned 30 a few weeks ago, i'm that typical old pervert that sneaks around young girls .. need to find that long raincoat :)

i think that is the pc version....

for one, it has planes whereas afaik the 360 version does not, and secondly how can one "video review" a game that is not out for another 2 months?

Yea i just noticed :(

Sorry to all those that downloaded::(

Another new trailer, early comments seem to be positive...

EDIT: Just watched, very nice. Theres a little subtitle throughout the trailer that says 'actual game footage' though the camera angles arent gameplay angles (i.e. a HUD or something). I dunno if that makes it an in engine cutscene or an in-game movie from 3rd person camera angles.
