ATi same mistake as nVidia?

the rv350 is has a higher clock on the core and the memory, yet its slower than the r350. Which means its not a very effient core which looks alot like the nv30.

BUT they had the r300 which was an awesome core so they used it to fall back on with the r350. leaving the fx-ish core to take second place as the value part.

Rv350 was never intended to be the performance part. Hence the 'v'.

Who says its a slower performer ? IT may just have a 128bit bus instead of the 512. My guess is at 400mhz for both chip and ram it would give you the same performance ast the 9700pro but be alot cheaper to make. Thus the 9700pros will fade out of the market.
