499$ PS3 has no support for wireless pads?

According to Games Radar the cheaper version ($499) of PS3 won't be compatible with the wireless controllers. The cheaper version also lacks replaceable harddrive too, according to Games Radar.
I can't see the logic here - this can't be true, right?
I mean, in the PS3 specsheet it clearly shows that both versions will have support for Bluetooth, so why wouldn't the cheaper one support the wireless controllers (they're connected via Bluetooth) ?
Also on the issue about the harddrive, Phil Harrison said that you could replace the harddrive if you need a bigger one (I'm guessing 2.5" S-ATA).

Could any of the statings from Games Radar be true?

Dont think so, according to the Sony Conference, every PS3 will have the wireless/6-axis controller standard.

No wireless pads? Get the fuck outta here. There's absolutely no evidence to that. The official Sony PDF says both the gimp pack and the proper pack comes with the same wireless controller.

Games Radar must be on the same short journalistic bus as Spong and Enq.

Thats probably it, somebody should tell those guys the controllers are bluetooth.

A Sony representative on the show floor at E3 also emphasized that gamers won't be able to upgrade the memory of the 20GB version; if that's the PS3 incarnation you opt for, you're permanently stuck with a 20GB memory limit.

And tell them that the hard drive is upgradable and flash drives via USB are supported.
The Sony rep was probably referring to the memory card slots not upgradable.

Shogmaster: Exactly, the specsheet says that both have BlueTooth and SONY hasn't officially said anything else. And it would really cripple the cheap pack, even though it's already not that attractive.

Since they were wrong on that point, it seems silly to try to discuss the reasons why the 20GB drive would not be removable like the 60GB one. The "Sony rep" they talked to on the show floor was probably some clueless boothbabe.

Well, unless SONY comes out with some new information / updates the specsheet, this thread seems to have lost it's meaning.
So as things stand right now, both packs will come with wireless controllers, or at least support them.

Some mod can just lock the thread.
