360's freezing/overheating

why didnt they put in a open dvd drive (like the ps2's) ?
I mean, the rails with the moving lazerhead .
now they 'v put basicly a closed dvdrom in a box inside the xbox360

Ok well, then they've included a full-size 'standard' DVD drive. :p

He is right, the X360 will run cool, MS said so... :D

Gotta agree though that it looks like they could have made the box smaller if they had used a slim DVD drive (slot loading or the rail ones) as there seems to be a lot of dead space inside the box. Heat would likey be a problem but a better venting system could likely have been designed (look at the Mini-mac, its tiny and yet doesn't really overheat).
