This game is just so awesome. I haven't been addicted to a the MP part of a FPS game in a long time. But I can see myself playing this for months.

Yeah, I completely agree: the MP part is really superb executed. I like it a lot. What impresses me the most, is the easy online play: press 'play now'...few seconds later you are in a game and action can begin: the battle sound, the scope and the maps (except maybe the one in the dune, with the ships...) are really good. What I like the most: the squad system, makes jumping right back into action after dying very easy!
After playing a while, I also recognized another important feature: the battle chatter. You always automatically get updated by your surounding buddies with little phrases what is actually happen or that there is an immediate threat (sniper!?), or someone needs help, ...

Spent about 26 hours ingame now, playing on the PC, was in the PS3 beta but bought the game for PC due to superior IQ, this game is so awesome in MP. Usually go recon class with Saiga shotgun and a friend as medic/engineer, we do pretty well the motion sensors help alot when advancing/defending spots :)

sniper copping (shooting tracer darts onto non-aggressive teammates faces to annoy them) is actually working. you do it a few times to your camping squadmate and he'll get the message. It is definitely worth giving up your side-arm for.

I wouldn't mind the snipers if they would at least spot. . .that's the one that drives me nuts. Second in line is folks who don't wait for teammates when they have a tank, doubly so when I am trying to repair the bloody thing for them!

    =)

    Cheers

    Repi,

Are you reading this thread at all?

If so, here are a couple of quick changes that would really help the MP portion out.

    1. Squad leader. Each squad should have one and there should be an easy identifier.
    2. Squad leaders can use the up or down on the D-Pad to communicate with other squad leaders. With this, you can have full team coordination vs just your group of four.

These are minor changes that do not upset the balance but really got a long way to enhance the teamwork. I hope these are considered.

    +1 to you.
Its really annoying when your squad is the only squad pursuing the objectives....PC version atleast has the liberty of text chat, while we are left to play on our own.

Also when someone is not in a squad, does that mean he can talk to other people who are not in a squad too ? Cause yesterday I was in a game with my friend but none of us was in a squad yet we could chat with each other.

yes I believe that if you're by yourself, you can talk to anyone. for some reason, I remember Halo having a lot of communication when talking to randoms but in COD and BF, it seems hardly anyone ever talks.

What really needs to be fixed is the long range accuracy on some of the short range weapons, like the Saiga and the PP2000.

Totally agree with your recommended loadouts, except I'd choose Mortar instead of C4 for Recon.

I havent used mortar much, i tried it couple times, people kept moving and i got no where so went back to c4. Ive been told by a friend you can plant anti tank mines, die, change back to c4 and the mines stay.

most fun to be had with engineer imo, blowing up tanks so much fun, plus the point get racked up in no time.

Am I the only one who thinks Red Dot sucks ass ? I'd rather use iron sights over red dot.
Though I prefer using 4x scope with the guns.

And for some levels like defending on Port Valdez, use mines instead of RPG's as Engineer for some awesome points and making sure the attackers aren't able to use the vehicles to their advantage. Combined with the perks, you start with 6 mines and when you place all on the road near each other, there's absolutely no surviving it in a tank.

I am in love with the M16...4x scope, smoke grenades, magnum but switch off all the time depending on what is happening in game and team needs.

But go-to gun to fight off a bunch of baddies or lead scoring in SDM is M16. :)

this game is sweet, sweet multiplayer/squad game play.

M-60 could be nurfed a bit though IMO.

I know most of you are playing online, but for those of you who have completed the SP campaign, about how long is it?
