[360, PS3] BF:BC2 and BF 1943 online

I'm not too crazy about the changes I've heard about BC2, it seems like they're moving away from the things from the things I liked about BC1.

Can someone please get an extra key for me ?
Both Fileplanet and GS require you to be from the US in order to get a key & since I'm not from the US I cannot get my hands on it.

I'm not in the US either, but I was a fileplanet subscriber for a couple of years and have had this account for ages, if that makes any sort of difference.

I only played one game so far because my controller needs charged but looks great.
It runs well enough and hit detection was good it seemed.

You're in Europe? I like that you can call out targets like in BF2, via select, though I don't think it's started in US.

Okay, played a couple of games. Fun. It's a lot like BF:BC, of course. There's only one map available, and it's a goldrush map -- except goldrush isn't called that anymore. It's about disabling 'MCOM devices' -- I liked the silly crates full of gold bullion, so it's a pity, but no big deal. The gameplay's mostly identical and there only seems to be one map, which is a mix between Oasis and Final Ignition, I felt.

At least in this map, it felt like they scaled BC back even further and relied more on ground combat, which is fine by me. There's vehicles, of course, but I didn't see anything beyond a tank. There's a helicopter that flutters by, but I played 4 matches and couldn't really understand what it does. I don't think any player was controlling it, since I also didn't see any helipads. You can mark it on select, and it'll be briefly shown on the map, for what it's worth.

Moving up ranks seems even easier than BC, though now each kit is tracked separately from your level. Kit weapons are unlocked by playing that kit and getting points for it, as are vehicle upgrades. Levelling up gives you other abilities, like extra ammo and some special weapons (I think the shotgun you get for levelling up, since every kit can use it). You can't spend unlock points like you could in earlier BF games. I'm sorta afraid of a 2142-ish over-reliance on upgrades, to be honest. The extra ammo upgrade, for instance, seems much more useful than others and allows you to keep going for much longer. Though this may be because everyone's new at the game and I didn't see much of the ammo refill items being tossed about (and unlike BC, there are no ammo crates, that I've seen). It seems that ammo refills are an unlockable, since none of the kits I had available had them. I really haven't been following all of this game's media, though.

The select tagging seems a bit too powerful, since you just need to look in a direction and press it, and anything in your LoS is marked out. I used it a couple of times just to find out where snipers were, when I hadn't even seen them yet. Also, having a little red reticle above your head makes you an easier target for allies. At least it uses line of sight, I guess people will have to be smart about staying out of view most of the time. Also, being the first to spot someone gives you a 20 point spot assist when they're killed (killing a foot soldier is 50 points on its own) -- and this game is even more point-happy than BC. I destroyed a tank with two people in it while protecting a teammate and the objective and the points just kept tallying up, it felt like some jackpot, which I guess is the idea.

I'll probably buy this come march. If I hear good things about the PC version I might double-dip.

Oh yeah, squads is essentially what we had from 1943. You can join a squad, create a squad, spawn on any member of your squad or at the current base. Controls have changed; secondary weapon before was accessed by hitting the bumpers or R2/L2, and now you use the D-pad. Makes switching feel a little more cumbersome, I felt, especially for quick switches, like the assault kit's. Now grenades are on L2/LB and melee is on R2/RB. The rest seems about the same. These are default controls of course, I didn't try different ones.

WOW ! That video looks super awesome ! Am I the only one floored by the graphics :D ! I love BF:BC gameplay, still play it sometimes, thats where MP really feels FUN. I hope they don't change too much of it. I loved the fun tone of the game, seems they are doing away with it :( . I am hoping everything still stays fun !

oh my I can't wait until March

is this from the PC version? Looks phenomenal!!

EDIT: I just have to watch this over and over again...I wasn't this impressed from a game video since the first KZ2 clip I saw!

Are you playing the PS3 version? What about the graphics? How do they compare with the video?

When your on offense there is like a green box that shows on the map near the home base and that is how you control the UAV.You can mark targets with it and shoot rockets from it I think.

The graphics are very comparable to the video, looks the same to me.
