2 PlayStation Moves standard vs Kinect is 2 Moves better than Kinect @ it's own game?

How do you have your kinect set up? How bright is your room? Do you have sunlight? Were you just too close to a wall?

cuz yes I can.

it lets you move from 6' away from the kinect to 14' away with no issue?

I don't have 14' to play in so maybe the wall is the reason I couldn't step back without the warning & I couldn't walk too close.

you must have it setup pretty good for you to be able to move that much in Kinect Adventures because my wall is like 11' from the front of my tv I had to stand in the 7' - 10 zone because when I stepped back I was too far or too close to the wall what ever the case was & I couldn't go up closer than 6' with the way the camera adjusted for me standing about 9 feet away. so I only had about 3' of back & forth movement,
for me to be able to have 8' of movement back & forth starting from my 10' limit kinect would have to be able to work with me standing 2' away.

Some movement will be desired, but if you take into consideration that this is a simulation and that you have to keep the TV in your field of view, then Kinect is more than adequate.

I don't have the PS Move, so I can't speak to it much. The good thing about Kinect is that it automatically tracks you once you are back into its predefined play area--no need for calibrations, button presses, etc.

As for the original topic, both systems has it's pros and cons, although I think you have further room to grow with Kinect compared to Move. Improving camera resolutions for both depth and RGB, as well as fps, the number of people that could be tracked could yield incredible results.

Check out this vid at around the 4 min mark.

I can only imagine a refined Kinect with a special screen that would allow a glasses-less 3DTV that relied on head tracking to create the 3D effect. What blows my mind is the ability to display to different images to different users on a single screen regardless of where the person moves.

onQ, what do you consider the must-have games for the Move. Absolutely not interested in KZ3...

I don't know what's the must have games because people have different taste but my top 3 are Sports Champions , The Fight & Top Darts

that's the crazy part about all this no one needs to be moving back & forward when playing a video game because they need to be focused on the TV but people keep bringing up that you can't move your feet when playing The Fight.

I don't really see why moving front to back is something no one should be doing. That's part of the whole reason Kinect exists. For example, table tennis is a sport that requires controlling your distance to the table. I see no reason why that wouldn't be a consideration if a developer were to make a more complex table tennis game.

It's probably more like 5-13' actually.

I believe I had less range of movement before i moved the kinect higher (I used to have it below the TV), but that was after about 30 minutes, so I don't really remember what the range was before I moved it. I have a huge basement room, with a ton of clear space (I just slide over a sofa to play). And I turn all the lights up bright.

People testing on PC have been able to get a much larger range out of the kinect so I hope it to improve with future games, but I don't see much need for more than 1 step forward or back (and you really don't need to take a big step for those that even require it).

in this video I was standing about 8' away if I step up to 5' I would disappear same thing if I would have stepped back to 11', even at 6' away my fist would go out of the play space & disappear as I was punching .

Your Shape may not allow for a lot of lateral movement, but Kinect Sports does. If Your Shape defines a much narrower playing area, it's not because of a technical limitation, it's because they had seem reason to define it that way in the software. When I play table tennis on kinect sports, I can jump side to side and reach out with my arms and have no problem. Some time this weekend I'll measure out the playing area for Sports and Adventures, once I get my hands on a role of masking tape.

Yes, if I remember correctly Ubisoft does their own direct interpretation of the Kinect data feed rather than use Microsoft's 'avatar' APIs.

I always suspected that the reason is because the menus in Your Shape are built into the 3D space. Even during setup it asks you to stretch out to 'touch' a virtual wall, noting when you have done so that it is using that data to space the menu icons correctly for you personally.

KZ3 works extremely well with Move. I can honestly say that if calibrated correctly, it's almost as good as playing with a KB/m. Even though the SP itself was just good, playing with Move makes it really fun, both online and SP.
