Unreal Engine 5, [UE5 Developer Availability 2022-04-05]

This is a perfectly valid thing to do. But you went even further by saying that you hate Unreal which is bizarre. Either you understand that these issues aren't engine-specific or you don't.
I said "I'm kinda starting to hate Unreal Engine".. because the same issues crop up in games of all different ambition, scope, budget, and team. These issues are specifically consistent in the games that use this engine. Unreal Engine games without these issues are the exception to the rule. Giving 100 games a pass because 5 game studios did a good job doesn't help any situation and doesn't absolve the engine of inherent issues.

That's data.
When did I ever suggest you shouldn't provide data when asking for support? I said if you try to be specific in explaining things which you couldn't possibly know or prove as the reason, they will just ignore you.

Fortnite runs really really well. But the energy savings that epic implemented should be a setting that you can toggle. I wonder if they could enable hardware lumen without it.

Also, Fortnite is still an SDR game. Like, WTF epic?

With regards to my crashing in fortnite, I've got some pc problems going on. How do I go to bed one night with a perfectly working pc and wake up the next day and it starts crashing within 20 minutes of booting it up. Then I have cryptic windows event logs with crash dumps that I have no idea how to read. Really good stuff. I hate it.

Hopefully I get things sort and I'll be able to get some testing/investigation of Chapter 6. Right now it seems like any time I try to play it my pc will crash, but it's also freezing at random doing other things. My first thought was memory checking and occt avx2 mem test has come up with nothing after 5 hours. So I just need to figure out a way to test my cpu and gpu stability now.

I did display driver uninstaller in safe mode and then reinstalled the latest nvidia drivers and not long after that my pc froze and rebooted while I was looking at a log file in notepad ... sfc /scannow came up with nothing.

a few more examples of the LOD difference between nanite/non nanite objects, subtle at a distance but more obvious up close

they've been tuning the geometric detail a bit lower, at release the details were a bit higher, but still good looking.

Great comparisons Karamazov! There's just no comparison between these two.. one is last gen the other is very clearly next gen.

I had a similar problem many moons ago, I pulled apart the whole pc and tried parts in my friend computer trying to narrow down the problem. As a hail mary I tried running with the absolute min things plugged in, it turned out the usb ports the mouse was in was going belly up. I grabbed a pci usb card and never used those 2 ports again. Probably a small chance this is your problem but don't overlook the smalls things and maybe try them first before, like check if windows may have updated your usb/audio/nic drivers recently, there was that windows update recently.

Have you overclocked the CPU?

Have you overclocked the CPU?

Nope. I actually undervolted it tonight. I don’t know why but my cpu cooler seems to not be doing as good a job as it was before. I cleaned the rad, redid the cpu paste. Seems like I’ll get temp spikes during things like shader comp, which is what I think was crashing Fortnite. I used my pc through many summers and my apartment gets hot. Never had an issue. Right now my apartment is cold and I have to worry about heat. I can’t run a multi core cinebench without getting into thermal throttling territory, when it was fine at least a year ago. Undervolting is getting me through gaming with low temps now. Hoping to build a new pc soon anyway.

Thinking of games that eventually got to that level, I think we really only have something like Metro Exodus. Any other games that used tessellation stage so much anyone can think of?
I think Battlefield One and V still have the best tessellation.

Should be 5.5
Interestingly the .exe shows 5.6. 👀

What processor are you running? Could it be Intel 13/14 gen instability?

The pump may have failed, not sure how you test that in an aio (easy in a custom loop). How old is it?
