The Wii sold 666.7K units in June 2008, the NPD stats for the month reveal, compared to 405.5K for the PS3 and 219.8K for the Xbox 360. The Nintendo DS sold 783K units for the month, while the PSP mustered sales of 337.4K.

Wow the PS3 did really well if not for the MS FFXIII announcement putting a damper on things Sony would be sitting very pretty right now and possibly gaining momentum.

The ms price drop would have made up some of the sales gap and there wouldn't be any big launches in july .

While it's nice to see both MGS4 and NG2 right up there, Nintendomination continues as normal for the most part

Good hardware numbers for Sony. Nice bump.

Nintendo is in a diff league.

MS moving along but need to pick it up. We'll see how the price cut does.

Software:
Expected more from MGS4. I was thinking 1.25ish

Remember that some of the PS3 hardware bump will actually be the MGS4 bundle, drawing some of what would otherwise have been software sales. There's probably a 200k spread or so based on that SKU, not that that's not just me guessing. There was also the Wal-Mart $100 deal in that month; now since Wal-Mart's not counted, that may be some more PS3 console sales significance that we don't quite have insight into.

June 1 and 2 were the big buy days, they missed the window.

Those numbers are fine for that genre in the summer.
