Oh, and one more thing: there's a difference between "smart" and "gets things done".
Have you ever interviewed tech candidates? I did. Sometimes your initial impression is wrong and you have to fix stuff when time passes. We're humans, we make mistakes all the friggin' time.
Oh, and one more thing: there's a difference between "smart" and "gets things done". I'm smart but I have hard time getting stuff done due to my utter inability to estimate ETAs*. It's possible she's "amazeballs" but so are people at ND so it's not enough to just be smart, you've got to deliver tangible things. "Incompetent" in the initial rumor is about a product of both qualities in my book.
*it took me 5 years to get from "a level of magnitude off the mark" to "took twice longer than expected"; now I just multiply by 3/2 and I'm usually OK.
DX12 is going to do bugger all for the XB1, so i don't see that having anything to do with this dubious rumour. If true maybe she's going back to 343 since rumor is that DX12 will offer closer to the metal coding for XB1? Wasn't that one of the reasons she cited for leaving MS?
Read the Microsoft statement here:

“While we consider Corrinne Yu a part of our founding family and can’t wait to see where her talent takes her in her new role, we wanted to clarify a repeated misconception, most recently on an IGN podcast. Corrinne worked on a branch of our tools team and did not in fact work on either the Halo 4 or Halo 5 engine or graphics at all. Our current tools team will surely miss her enviable intellect, but we felt it fair to both her and 343 Industries to ensure that the nature of her contributions was not being misrepresented. I wonder if the fantards at NeoGaf realize that this is editable by anyone, at any time. Nah, they're too busy being incredibly dumb. Props to peterb0y.”
So, Jared and Samuel: does IGN know that you are falsifying press releases from Microsoft? Is this a regular journalistic practice at IGN? btw, for writers, you have a poor grasp of the sytanx of PR writing and the obvious grammatical errors are troubling. You are paid writers, yes? Do you care for your craft?
Yup. Well you need an IGN account and they don't give those out to just anybody!s that just a WIKI page with access to anyone?
There's no indication that she misrepresented her achievements during any interview. And that even wasn't my point. My point was that she may not be the right cultural or technical fit for ND and it's possible even competent people missed that during the interview.I have, and its not too difficult to ask good questions and figure out who actually did the implementation of xyz software and who simply listed it on their resume.
I remember years ago an interview about a very smart German general, called Kurt von Hammerstein, on how to use people in the military and how he did classified his men.Have you ever interviewed tech candidates? I did. Sometimes your initial impression is wrong and you have to fix stuff when time passes. We're humans, we make mistakes all the friggin' time.

ND has always made wonderful games, and they also have a pretty strong public image. However, the realities inside the studio may be different from that image.
What I'm trying to say is, don't jump to quick conclusions. Especially such ones.
So I assume rumours were true.
