ZOE2 question (Snow, swarm & particle effects)

I swear it was a big as Halo, but the difference being one delivered, one fell short of the mark
How to hell can you know if a game delivered when you haven't even played it? First of all, why do you think Famitsu reviewers are more attuned to your tastes than the reviewers at Dorimaga? Because they gave Halo that same score, so you trust them... or because you made up your mind already to continue bashing anything that comes out for PS2?

Reminds me of MGS2, nice hype, nice game but just stopping short of full gaming bliss.
Please take your stand. Are you discussing your opinion here or the opinions of game reviewers? In the western media, MGS2 has the same average score as Halo.

Dear brother Marc,

I am not bashing the PS2, i love my PS2! Sony is cool! 8)

Just wanna bring some of you down to reality. ZoE2 internet hype is way too overloaded, so much so that even teamxbox(of all places) are hyping that game. ZoE2 will be a nice mecha action game, but do not expect it to be GOTY material, it will end up being JAGTY(Just Another Game This Year. :p )

Unless of course Konami totally revamp the whole gameplay structure. The Famitsu review just put a dent on my hopes here. Yes, Dorimaga gave it a good score, but you have Famitsu with an average one, which questions to how great the game really is. :(

Just for fun, I predict the western media will rank ZoE2 in the 8.5-9.0 range. Not a bad score, not GOTY score, not one that will justify the hype.
The negatives being the repetitive and relatively short gameplay in a linear restricted path. The good PS2 graphics and pumping audio, will help to bump up the score.

What is your prediction :?:

My parents want me to study study study study and studly...so sadly speaking, not much of a life me have...

No Way!??

Come on, noone is expecting it to be game of the year. Heck, you would be crazy to expect PDO to be GOTY material. Games like that are hardly contenders nowadays. Has that stopped people hyping PDO to skies for it's great art direction, tight gameplay and great graphics? Has that stopped them from enjoying it? No. And I think people are hyping ZoE2 for those same reasons. The game looks like a frickin' high budget anime, with the craziest action I've ever seen. Of course people are going to hype it.

Anubis deserves all the hype (?) it's got. More than PDO.

PDO = very good remake of a 32 bit game.
Anubis = evolution of anime/mech action games.

I know you're joking, but what you just said makes as much sense as saying "Add some bumpmapping to Quake 2 and there you have it - Halo 2!"

Yep and you could say that for pretty much EVERY next generation game ever since the invention of videogames, apart from the *new genres*...

Actually apart from the Mech style, Cel shading, particle effects, it isn't any better than Armored Core or VO :)

Lots of lasers transparency effects but that's old hat done before in this specific category too.

what on earth are you on today?! have you played any of these games? if you really think that the only difference between ZOE and those games is in graphics, then you need a reality check. whether you like the game or not (god forbid, that would be against nature... PC-Engine and a game coming out on a Sony console?! ) there is no denying that the GAMEPLAY is like north pole and south pole....

There's no point in comparing gameplay as they all have good gameplay. Everyone seems to be gushing over the particle effects aka graphics

That's just what I'm saying! Apart from some bump mapping, Halo 2 indeed isn't any better looking than Quake 2...

Halo 2 has a lot more than just bumpmapping over Quake 2. ZOE2 doesn't have much over Armored Core or VO with regards to graphics.

I don't think so. It's just some added bumpmapping. Just like ZoE2 has some added particles and a transparency here and there.
