Your very best car

If money wasn't any objection whatsoever, which car would you buy? And which one did you buy instead?

I would buy an Impreza WRX. And while it turned out I could get one, I settled for an Impreza 2.0R. Plenty good enough for normal driving, and more powerful than the large majority of cars around here.

But I think most people would want something much more extreme and expensive than that. ;)

Oh, and I would like pictures!

As a bonus question, which car would you want if your job consisted of driving? And that can be anything, from truck driver to Formula 1 pilot. Whatever you would want to do.

Oh and btw, if i had a job as delivery guy , i definitly would use this car also... :)

I'm not sure which I would pick but it would have to be either the McLaren F1 or Porsche Carrera GT.

For an all around car I would choose the 06 Acura TL.

Hmmm..this is a good question. I guess it would go to the new Lamborghini Murcielago that has the beefed up V12 engine. The performance I've seen has been a little dissapointing to me, and I don't think it'd even get more looks than a Diablo so not really.

Let me think about this for a while and I will get back to you. It's a really tough question...and if money is no object there are all kinds of cars I would like.

Forget it, make it a McLaren F1.

Hmm... A Ferrari 355 has always been my absolute dream car since it came, so I'll choose that. Not too pie in the sky, not too ostentatious, just elegance. The near perfect car IMO.

The superduper cars a'la Enzo, Koenigsegg, Veyron and Zonda definitely doesn't have the looks, in fact I think they look HORRIBLE. I don't care about the performance if they look like something the cat drug in... Even the McLaren F1 looks just... bland, IMO. No zest.

Another car I'd ilke to have had sometime during my life is a proper Porsche 911, preferably an RS 3.2(not bloody likely :) ).

As a 'professional' driver, an F1. No comments necessary. :)

Enzo. There's not even a close second.

Ended up with a C5 Z06. Best bang for the buck and stupid fun to drive.

As a pro driver. F1.

quite humble dream car for me :

http://104samba.free.fr/hosted/104zs205.html

it's a rare (only 1000 were built), almost twice as powerful version of my car. see the glued-on revmeter :D (I don't have one. and mine is citroën, like this http://www.citroen.com/NR/rdonlyres/EECB946C-2CE7-4228-B81D-C29805041B41/16860/Lna_01.jpg )
yeah that's tiny but but enough to haul around my ass.

well, so if money is not a concern and these cars are not that expensive, I'll add cab http://104samba.free.fr/sambacab.html and rallye versions http://104samba.free.fr/grpbevo.html , they don't take much room anyway and I'd choose whichever depending on my mood.

maybe I'm young and immature and don't realize I'll have other cars in my life than my first one :p

Ferrari 550 Maranello would also be nice. Nothing is quite as nice as a RWD monster in an elegant looking car.

If I could buy any car I wanted it would most certainly be graced with the prancing stallion.

The car I settled for was an 06 Infiniti M45 Sport, also known as the Nissan Gloria.

i kinda like the vw passat. (im not joking) Ive always wanted a passat. Just waiting for the hybrid version of it.

Koenigsegg CCX -- Drive the fastest street legal car in the world in comfort and safety with little pollution (meets California's strict standards). Oh, and it's a convertable too.

ccx_black.jpg

Engine: Supercharged V8 | Power: 806 hp | Torque: 920 Nm | Acceleration: 0-100 km/h: 3,2 s | Topspeed: 395+ km/h | Chassis: Carbonfibre semi-monocoque | Body: Carbonfibre, Kevlar | Aerodynamics: 0,297 Cd | Weight: 1180 kg

If you're poor, they even sell them used. If not, I think it's about $500,000 CAD.

I believe the Bugatti Veyron still has it beat, and while costlier, it's probably less of a beast to drive than the CCX... That being said, the CCX is most certainly more bare knuckle fun and the only thing that's more likely to get you killed would be a Carrera GT, or some ham-fisted clod in an '83 911 Turbo (or an old TVR)...

Dunno, there's too many great cars out there... I love the Zonda F because of it's outrageous styling (particularly the interior) and still gives you the rocketship performance of the Enzo (actually probably around a track faster because the Enzo is a lead sled), without going into the absurd of the CCX (lets face it, your date would be deaf after a ride in the CCX). I'd love a Noble M12 simply because it's proabably the best handling car in the world, and nobody in the 'States would know what the hell it was. Kudos for it's plain-jain little Mondeo V6 with such ridiculous turbocharging that it sounds like Darth Vader on throttle lift...

However I'd probably end up going with an old Ferrari F40. Simply because for an '80
s era supercar, it still does 200+ mph, it'll still just keep up with a Zonda F, Enzo, CCX in 0-60, and no computers or other silly nonsense to bail your ass out, just pure mehcanical fun.

What I currently have? I moderately modded '05 Mini Cooper S, and I use to have a '99 Impreza WRX STi ver.VI RA Limited... Sadly I could not bring it back from Japan.

If my job consisted of driving? Probably something more comfortable like a Veyron, a Aston Martin DB9 (which is just pure pornography on wheels), or something more practical like a Maserati Quattroporte...

I happen to know 2 people who own M12 GTO 3R's in my town. I live just outside of Dallas, Texas.
