He's a poster on GAF with a 10 year history leaking accurate insider info.
Some months we spent less, some months we bought more games than we otherwise could. We used to be quite careful with out purchases, rarely buying any game that didn't at least get a Zzap!64 'sizzler' rating, but preferably 'Gold medal' ratings. But since we liked cinema as well and money was tight, we balanced it.Did you spend less? And you facillitated this sharing with physical media? The act of sharing didnt compel you to invest less but spent in a way that benefited the group as a whole. When u share under a share plan like One's potential system with very liberal sharing policies each dollar invested is potentially 10X more effective in providing content depending on your buddies, each is making equal contribution and the size of your club.

I think PSN+ needed for online takes care of that.Sony is trading long term profitability for early adopters. I don't think that's a good direction, giving up significant revenue streams that would've been nearly free. They really want core gamers to flock to the PS4, as if they have little trust in other ways to reach the mass market.

Yep, over a 5 year period, there should be enough revenue from PS+ to take off some of the potential losses of the PS4 being priced at $399.
MS is still going to be ahead in profits.
I understand that as a gamer, all people see is that PS4 is cheaper to buy and cheaper to own now. But this will cost Sony in the long run, significantly, so they must have a really big reason for it, because such large corporations aren't altruistic in my experience.
