What he said about the textures and his artists, was refering to the first demo they did, when they were experimenting with parallax mapping. That was a long time ago!

His only fault, IMO, was releasing this kind of information to this forum, expecting people here to understand how much work there is in software development, and how sometimes you can't waste time doing certain tasks when you concetrating on another.

But hopefully for them, they'll learn NOT to disclose any information regarding their development stage, so people won't accuse them for incompetence or unprofessionalism. This is the reason most companies only talk about development once their product is finished.

I think it's good, once in a while, to involve the potential customer of your game with the actual development of it; it creates a community.

Secondly, Artificial Studios was accused of unprofessionalism before the actual comment was made by Tim Johnson, all he did was clearing it up, and saving the name of Artificial Studios.

I don't think you are acting unprofessional when you clear some issues up for people that are interested in your work.
