I really like the look of the controller. Looks thinner and is smaller. Nice--especially the Headset hookup on the bottom! The dual shoulder triggers are NICE also (love that on my pelican... I wish the triggers were lower though).

How big is the Gameinformer mag? Xbox 360 is supposed to be like About 10.25" x 2.5" .

hm.... I had a lot of problems trying to aim with the joysticks on the S-Controller versus the original controller. Now, my hands aren't exactly the biggest, but the original controller is so comfortable in my hands. I'm lazy and I prefer not to bend my thumbs 100% of the time, which I do with the S-Controller. I just find it harder because my thumbs go past the center of the joysticks. I don't think I can handle next generation. Literally.

I just wish they would make several sizes. It's not like one size fits all with hardware.

...cue london-boy ;)

Did any 3rd parties make smaller controllers?

I have small hands, so a smaller controller fits me well... but they really should look into the "Small-Medium-Large" format. I think it is a great idea!

Anyhow, size of the Mag anyone?

The new xbox controllers feel good in my hand and i'm 6'4 so i think these will be fine . My friend at the show who was 6'9 said they were a little small for his hands but his hands are huge (and people tell me mine are huge)

hehe actually the only controller that is annoying is the ps2 and thats because the fins dig into my palms while playing and its just two small

The cube controller is really nice and the xbox controllers are fine . My fav of all time is the jap saturn pads

Hehe the Xbox 360 is shaping up very nicely as I had expected. Very nice industrial design and nice quality plastic too. Also very nice matte off-white finish. Much better than the previous glossy 1st gen prototypes.

This pic shows they've added some nice details. This little door looked really ugly before, but now it looks very good indeed. Controller looks just as good, non of that cheap looking stuff here. Green LED lit power button gives it a nice touch.

I just don't understand why they are pretty much forcing everyone to use Wireless. I mean... there are three USB ports for wired controllers, but the third one is in the back. :? What about 4 people? Can I just use a regular USB hub or what?

It looked like you could stick your own batteries in, but that doesn't mean you can recharge them by hooking it up to some power source. Or are rechargeable batteries actually included? If so, why not just make it some proprietary battery pack?

1) I don't want to keep buying AA batteries.
2) rechargeable batteries can go nuts after awhile

There are cases where wired is more convenient... such as not losing them (trust me on that one, I've seen cases where wired would save the day) or not having to charge them.

Where are the bloody options? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :devilish:

But how can the batteries recharge if it's been said that the controller takes AA batteries? I'm kinda curious about this myself.

There's an (optional) rechargable battery pack available, apparently (probably a Li-ion/Li-poly battery, or something). If you look at the pic of the back of the controller with the battery cover removed, you can see what looks likely to be the connector for it.

And the charging cable can probably power the pad directly, if you don't have the rechargable pack (so you're not completely buggered if your AAs run out and you haven't got any spares).

Am I the only one to find the XBox360 controller looking a lot like the Dreamcast controller ?
(Buttons and colors scheme, controller color scheme, overall controller design...)

I see similarities too not a bad thing IMO.

I may be in the minority on this but ... I really DONT like the matte plastic finish of the x360... it is TOO dreamcast like... Though i dont necessarily want it to be a hifi appliance... it should still look high end... I would probabaly get either or black or some other metallic custom face plate to replace the front when available

I cant say anything about the controllers as they look great...

I personally think the ID of the PS3 blows it away... good thing the internal hardware is a beast

I think the whole package is looking pretty damn sweet. That controller looks like the best controller ever. Can't wait to get one this fall.
