I liked the first, played it about 1/2 on a friends PS2. Never tried the 2nd. This looks good, as I just got a PS2 slim. I dont want a super hard game though, as I dont have a lot of time for consoles.
From I read the game is not only hard, it's also playing with your nerves because of its, "special", saves system. Even if you save you game just before a boss, you'll restart your game at the beggining on the level (If you didn't use one of the limited "continue").
Although, Tanaka (the producer of the game), in its
jeux-france interview, said the game would have a less challenging easy mode, that could let you play the game with only 2 buttons.
Personally, I love challenging gameplay, so I welcome this high difficulty in DMC3.

Put your money where your mouth is and buy the game to support Capcom. Don't just sit there and rave about the game. You want DMC4 for PS3 then buy the damn game for PS2.
Oh, please, stop with your inane logic, PC!
The sooner Capcom goes bankrupt, the sooner EA can buy them and the sooner we'll have exciting games like Def Jam May Cry, ESPN: Viewtiful Joe, or Resident Evil: Underground 2007!
It's crazy how a company like Capcom, pulling, this generation of home consoles alone, titles like Devil May Cry 1/3, Resident Evil 4/0/CV, Onimusha 1/2/3, Viewtiful Joe 1/2, Shadow of Rome, Monster Hunter, Breath of Fire V, Maximo 1/2 can be in such bad economical situation...
It defies any form of logic.
