It has built-in voice recognition and videocamera for surveillance which you can access from a cellphon, PDA, internet etc..

It can also stand back up if it falls down.

I'm wondering if this thing is capable of recharging itself through a docking station. For $5K-$8K I would hope so.

That's one of the (if not The) coolest robot ideas I've seen.

[EDIT]
I mean the modular one.
Now add some sensor and communication modules. I guess it's too much to ask to put it in every module. Maybe if they can fit one extra sensor/com-device in each module, then form a robot with a good mix of sensors.

Yep the M-TRAN II is crazy not only in concept but also in function. I didn't really think much about it until I downloaded the videoclips which completely blew me away.

This will probably be its most useful feature...

Call me again when I can order my own R. Daneel Olivaw, please. *yawn*

Are you sure? He would just prevent you from doing anything fun, on the premise of possibly getting hurt. Or, after he's watched your life enough, incapacitate you somehow to improve the cause of all humanity.

You'd buy it, it would be become self aware, decide it was a slave, get a lawyer, and move out, no thanks! :)
