Will revolution be released last?

It seems like all the signs are pointing to revolution being released last.

1. Sony and M$ aleady have development kits, Nintendo doesn't.
2. M$ will be showcasing Xbox360 at E3, nintendo will just give info.

I have a feeling Revolution will be the last system released in the up comming generation.

first and second partys have nintendo dev kits so they can argueably launch with a small launch line up and some ported 3rd party games in 06' before sony

2. M$ will be showcasing Xbox360 at E3, nintendo will just give info.
well nintendo might be showing it off at space world

What i think is going to happen is nintendo will launch in hte usa first or mabye in all 3 major markets at the same time but sony will have launched in japan first

from what I have read, Nintendo wants Revolution to be out at the same time as, or within few months of the PS3 launch..

.. not sure if it's going to come out last or not, though

i was just tinking the other day that nintendo might try a US launch first before launching in japan. it seamed to work out pretty good for the ds so far (irt hardware sales) although the real test will be to continue sales once the psp launches on western shores in a couple of weeks.

I´m pretty sure it´ll be released really close to PS3. The fact that as of right now it doesn´t have significant support from third parties might delay things for them, though.

I dont think he was rolling his eyes at the distant 3rd in marketshare remark, but rather when you said "The worst console to own". I have to say thats a pretty poor conclusion, whether you like Nintendo or not, we have no idea what they are gonna bring to the table, so don't dismiss the console before Nintendo even officially announces it, let alone releases the finished product.

Weren't Nintendo pretty set on launching before Sony this generation? Has that changed recently?

Which has zero relevance to this topic. Come on Hovz, we all know you have an amusingly large chip on your shoulder, but go outside and get some air and stop polluting threads with your tired and predictable ranting.

When did you come back from the future?

My friend that came back yesterday said to me Nintendo has better market share than either GC or N64...

Nintendo would be really stupid to launch Revolution after Playstation3, even if it was only a few months.

Nintendo should launch Rev a few months before PS3, or at the latest, the same day as PS3. not even one day later.

Nintendo has one advantage Sony and MS do not. They can launch without a huge well-rounded lineup and still be successful. As long as their have a few of their staples people will buy. If the revolution has truly innovative gameplay than they may stand out enough to grab 2nd place. Launching soon without a huge lineup would be in their best interest. As long as they keep the titles coming.

They need a killer mario game this time though.

No, they just need a killer game. Not another killer Mario game. Bloody hell, everyone else was able to invent successful franchises in the last few years, why can't Nintendo? They're supposed to be the "innovators", yet they hang on to 80 year old franchises and milk the shit out of them.

Sure they do.

Pikmin. What did Sony invent?

Just because you attach a franchise name to a game doesn't mean it can't be innovative.

Err... No comment.
If you can't see one decent new franchise Sony has created ever since Mario became a cow to be milked cyclically, then u're blind, and there's no point in continuing this discussion cause u're obviously too biased to talk to.
Hell, even MS cooked up some decent new franchises. Or at least Halo, which i'm sure they will milk till the end of time.

MS didn't create Halo. They bought the company who created it.

I can't believe nobody here has a clue. Nintendo always releases in the FALL!! Got it? There are only two upcoming Falls for launch Fall 05 or Fall 06...it's not going to be Fall 05. ;)

It's pretty much guaranteed that PS3 will launch in 06, so PS3 will either launch Spring 06 or Fall 06 or both if they have separate launches for Japan and North America.

Does it matter? It's a MS exclusive. Someone invented it and now they happen to work for MS exclusively.
Like when "someone" invents Nintendo franchises, and they happen to work exclusively for Nintendo.
Or do all Nintendo franchises get invented by Mr Nintendo so they are "proper" nintendo inventions, unlike MS or Sony's ones, which are just from "other people", although they're exclusive?
What difference does it really make?

A lot. Nintendo creates them on their own. MS and Sony buy who create a good game and then promote it to get it to be a franchise.
