why, Square ??

I know that many of you do not care since you are living in the US, but it seems that Kingdom Hearts will be another 50Hz slow gaming/big borders game in europe :(

Square is the last japanese dev to not include a 60Hz in their games. It results in slow moving/bad ratio (hence big black borders) for their games. FFX was awful and KH follows the same way.

It is not only an insult for all Square customers, it is also an insult for all Square artists looking at the end result, graphically.

Is it so difficult to include both executables on the disk ?? Namco, Capcom, Sega, Nintendo, Tecmo are doing it, why Square is not doing it ?? Have they no pride and no respect ??

That does suck, but apparently, the reason why FFX and KH are like that is that the DVD is too small to fit both executables....or something along those lines.

The problem is not in the executables, but in the FMVs. Imagine this:

Many of the people in Europe still cannot play games in 60Hz, therefore, they have to make their FMVs so that *everyone* can see them. That makes 50Hz the only choice. If they wanted to support both 50 and 60Hz, they would have to include all FMVs double. Once rendered at 50FPS and once at 60FPS (because of sound synchronization problems)

"...but KH has like nil for FMV... just the intro and ending.. "

Perhaps it's audio streams then. Although, that would be kinda stupid. Don't know. I guess Archie would be quialified enough to answer
