What music are you listening to right now?

I just got back from seeing Regina Spektor at Shepherd's Bush Empire. Un-fucking-believable; I had goose bumps. It was just her and a piano. Possibly one of the most impressive people I have ever seen, full stop, and definitely one of the best gigs - literally awesome.

OMG! I love Regina Spektor! She is one of the most talented singers I have ever heard, she can just do amazing stuff with her voice, she knows how to use it and become part of the music. You're so lucky, I'd love to see her in concert!

What's stopping you?

It's funny - some gigs you go to, the band/artist disappoints by not being as technically accomplished as you thought from listening to their records etc. Some are accomplished but can't deliver an engaging "performance", as such. She pretty much had everybody's jaws bouncing off the floor - the atmosphere was eerie with reverence at times (like being at an opera/classical performance) and at others erupted with laughter/cheers. I can't listen to the album right now since it's about 1/100th of the real deal!

Hehe! As a musician, I like everything quality and am not limited to a certain style. And Christina has a one in a million voice and perfectly knows how to use it. As said, just mighty. I also listen to lots of jazz, pop/rock, alternative, even techno.

Christina has an amazing voice and generally uses it to sing shite. Ever hear recordings of her as a kid? Fricking amazing.

I don't like that many of her songs, but the voice itself. Gives me shivers. There are only three female singers with such an effect on me, Annie Lennox, Sade and Miss Kier (former Deee-Lite). I'm _very_ picky.
