What is the deciding factor

I'm an engineer and find new technology fascinating. My decision will be affected (although not determined) by how technologically advanced / innovative / interesting / cool each console is. That's also why, this generation, I have had warm feelings towards the quite originally designed PS2, and somewhat colder towards Xbox, which seemed a bit boring PC in a box. Regarding PS3 vs Xbox2, both are quite interesting beasts, but I think Sony gets the points with Cell...

As opposed to ERP, I can't fathom buying a console for one game. Gaming just isn't that important to me.

In the end, the console + games + services just have to excite me. That's what it comes down to. If I don't want it, I don't buy it.

One game that I like.

I haven't seen it from 360 yet, for PS3 that eye toy demo has my interest and there is that F1 game, its been awhile since any new F1 game was released, hopefully that one has updated rules. For Revolution, they say Mario is in development, as long as its a platforming game, I am there.

One game. Thats why I own almost all consoles. ALthough I must say, the hackability/modability of the xbox is a big draw, but that was after I had already bought one.

I like the PSP's hackability and fact that you can homebrew develop for it.
