???if you play in graphics mode.
I meant "resolution mode". More pixels and effects!
Would you consider the Avatar game to be a Far Cry game? The trick with Ubi games, is to always skip one to get the next.
I haven't played Origins, and I loved Odyssey.
I skipped Valhalla and I'm really enjoying Shadows.
Same with Far Cry.
No idea, I haven't played Avatar.Would you consider the Avatar game to be a Far Cry game?
I mean, sure it says "Avatar" in the title and has the setting from the movie, but for all intents and purposes it is Far Cry: Blue People.
Seems I'm not alone.
I thought Avatar was pretty good fun, the parkouring and combat are good but the slightly preachy messaging was a little grating after a while. But I still dip in everynow and then for a good explore.
It was a but preachy, but lets face it; oil is bad, pollution is bad, humans tend have more in common with cancer (growth at all costs, consumption with no end) than they do with other animals, and lets chuck in some abuse of indigineous populations while we are at it! Any game based around modern human expansion and needs is going to end up casting us in a bad light but it is what it is. And I think they were using the proceeds of the mining to fuel their expansion in other areas of Pandora, all those vehicles need fuel! The story was absolutely horrible.
I mean, the basic premise in the game is humans are going back to Pandora AGAIN, only this time it's for old fashioned petroleum oil? I would love to see the economic system and energy infrastructure where that makes sense at any level.
So the story can basically be summed up as Humans are bad. Oil is bad. Pollution is bad. Killing humans is good.... Except for the humans that want to help you kill other humans, but once you get past the tutorial section you really don't need them anymore.
But anyway, the story was preachy, but the core game is fun to play (if you like exploring especially), the visuals are top notch, and it feels really satisfying to take out a bunch of armoured mechs with a bow and arrow.
But I didn't play it for the story, I never really play Ubi games for the story except maybe FC3, FC4, and AC:Oddessy (maybe Black Flag, that was interesting too). I love the open world, the exploration, the hidden things and, with Avatar, the mighty fine parkour
It does indeed but that is a tried and tested formula that people feel comfortable with. It's not a game with a strong learning curve, a refresh of the basics and you can be straight into the action. And that appears to be something that resonates with some players and other players, like yourself, are getting tired of.It's a Far Cry game. it plays exactly like every other Far Cry game. You have the same bases with the same ways to attack, same resource gathering and crafting to upgrade gear, same everything. It's good at doing it.
But it brings nothing new to the table other than a new environment to play in and the story is the worst of them all. It's a major reason why I haven't, and won't play Star Wars Outlaws. I've played enough Far Cry variants and I'm getting a bit tired of them. They need to bring something new to the table other than just a graphics upgrade, because I'm getting tired of playing Far Cry 3/4/Primal/5/New Dawn/6/Blue People without any real change in gameplay between any of them.
