Hi guys, I'm kind of purposefully doing an OT but it is not worse it to open a new thread.
Christmas is coming, I've a hell of a time finding present for me... (/that my wife would offer me). Came to think of many things but nothing really cut it. I decided to go for games as there is a significant number of games I passed on since I sold my 360 (actually I missed quiet some of them when I owned it).
I'm looking at pretty cheap games (so that mostly excludes too recent games), I kind of made a list and I would appreciate pov on those titles.
*Darksiders (it is a given as I liked the demo back in time on the 360)
*Darksiders 2 (really interested into that one, input welcome I've the feeling that reviews haven't done it much justice/ I can wait as it is still a tad expansive and I will have the first one)
*Batman Arkam City (great review but I never finished the first one on the 360, so I'm iffy)
* Titan quest complete edition (really interested and cheap (like 9$) but I'm scared to run into compatibility headache as I run windows 7, I don't want headaches...)
*kingdoms of alamur (really interested into that one but the lack of support has pushing close to a"no thanks")
Overall I like action adventure games, I'm not into multi player, I've a tough time dealing with FPS of any sort, I'm really wary about a game (which I know is amazing) like Skyrim, I tried Oblivion at some friend's place and I never got into it (I'm close to the aversion to say the truth). Anyway Skyrim is still too expansive.
I know that games as Fallout 3 are great but for the same reason as Skyrim, I think it is safer for me to pass.
I could go with a good (&cheap) racing games, may be something ala need for speed with a lot of race from point a to point B, not interested in the sand box type (like the last one, most wanted). Suggestions welcome.
I could go with a sand box games, I've wondered about Prototype 2, Sleeping dogs looks nice but it is still a tad expansive (I try to go with games =<20$ so I can have a nice collection of games to play with for a quiet a few months), GTA4 is dirty cheap but the complete edition is not available but still I guess there is a lot to do with the original and plenty of mods are available.
I'm a bit wary about GTA has I'm not attracted at all by violent and realistic games, I don't really care in fantasy/scifi set-up but I've a strong distaste for gratuitous violence (I saw a CoD where you shoot a guy through his neck and I was floored), I more than often disable blood and gore effects (did in GeoW). I don't know gta still sound like a must have to me, I'm not sure what to do but a sand box could definitely fit into my lists, advices welcome.
If somebody have an idea that doesn't fit into the category he/she is welcome, it is difficult to keep in mind of the releases and some really good games sadly go almost unnoticed.
