Isn't it supposed to shine BLUE around the disc slot? It does on all them purty pictures... Well, mine doesn't! It just flashes real quick when turned on, and then nothing... Maybe it is my 360 being jealous and sending it bad vibes for making it look so big and fat (and noisy), I don't know.

No, that's what is supposed to happen. I read somewhere that initially the blue light was supposed to be on all the time, but somewhere along the line Nintendo changed it to just when first turned on and when you get a message (I believe wiiconnect 24 has to be on also... no sure about that part).

Sadly, that's a feature and not a bug. The drive shines only when inserting a disc (and in another instance that I can't remember at the moment)... Perhaps future revisions of the firmware will allow this to be user-selectable.

I believe that only occurs if the unit is off when you insert the disc.
