video editing software ?

I'm currently using cyber link power director and I hate it.


I'm looking for something that isn't to expensive but will allow me to edit 1080p avc video and hopefully take advantage of my radeon 6950 for encoding.


Any sugestions for someone who is a beginner at this ?

I have no idea about 1080p avc support
but a couple of years ago i used pinacle studio 9 and it was really easy
i think they are on version 15 now (studio hd)
