Uncharted 4: A Thief's End [PS4]

Yeah, Borderlands has that aim and pretty much did it, POP had the same and did it the best. Loved it in that game. Telltale games also go for it but frankly, I can't stand it for more than an hour.

I wish ND would go the exact opposite route: away from stylized graphics and colors to 'real life' or 'movie' style...

I dunno, I think the stylized art style works better for this kind of larger-than-life adventure.

Also, moving to a realistic look would require a lot of changes on their art workflow, they'd have to invest in tools and processes for data acquisition (scanning mostly) and it'd allow less room for artistic expression.

And we already have plenty of such games anyway - in fact I'd like to see more hand-crafted games lie UC and TLOU.

Agree completely. Far less feelings of uncanny valley when playing games like Uncharted and TLOU.

I think real time graphics are still nowhere near advanced enough to render a convincing comic book artwork. Artwork like that looks great because it's so deliberate in its use of crinkling cloth, bulging muscles and proportions that get adjusted for maximum effect on a panel-by-panel basis. It looks great because it makes use of techniques real time 3d graphics tend to suck at.

And one other thing:

The team at Naughty Dog will be heads down working through 2015 making sure that Nathan Drake’s story gets the closure it deserves.

I'd love to see them working on something brand new, as new Uncharted and TLOU might be amazing but we need new.

More time to polish and improve on the graphics are forgivable, as long as they show something for E3 I'd still be happy. Looks like I'll have to get Tomb Raider after all this year along with Bloodbourne,The Witcher 3, MGSV and Batman AK to tie me over.

3 - Tell your niece that Uncharted 4 will come later, but they launched Uncharted 3.5 in the meantime, called Golden Abyss

Probably an unpopular opinion, but the characters are not the strength of the series. They're easily replaceable. To me, the series is all about the set pieces and the action.

Blasphemy! Characters are everything in Uncharted. And the action. And the set pieces.

Even though I kind of agree, Nathan could be replaced by the right character, in a very different Uncharted.

Or they should just make something completely different. If they create a completely new protagonist, what's the point of putting him into the same franchise. Might as well start afresh, call it something else. It will still have that ND feel to it and we'll all love it.

Last Nathan Drake Uncharted.

I could do another Uncharted game or two - if they maintain the quality. But it's good they are letting Drake retire.

I would be really interested to see Uncharted with a returning Chloe (voiced by Claudia Black) as the lead. But something new would be interesting too. Endless sequels with the same characters getting out of endless scrapes can so drag.

But bumping Uncharted 4 makes sense. They don't want it clashing with The Last Guardian.

To me, Drake is Uncharted. I would have about the same apprehension of playing UC without Drake as I would seeing a movie titled "Indiana James". :| LOL.
