TLOU looked decent @ 30fps. But the shadow quality/filtering turned to absolute crap when 60fps was enabled.

30fps: http://cdn2-www.craveonline.com/ass...9_10203041867665903_2945245640017495194_o.jpg
60fps: http://cdn3-www.craveonline.com/ass...5_10203041868025912_7580611207168143345_o.jpg

If this is a price that has to be paid for 60fps, I will pay it every time. I almost never noticed any problems with them during my playthrough, and nothing that can be described as "absolute crap".

Anyhow, back to Uncharted 4. Its appeirance on Playstation Experience event is guaranteed.

If this is how Drake will look during gameplay then I will piss in my pants from excitement

Real-time cutscenes in engine yes. Gameplay? Probably not worth that level of detail to spend limited resources on.

Well at least I hope he looks that good during real time cutscenes (no more recorded in engine videos please. I like marvelling the true real time capabilities of the console)

To me it's nice to have cutscenes where the character doesn't have a different weapon/clothes/etc compared to the gameplay part.
And my inner geek likes to know it's all being pumped out by the hardware in real time.

Geez, why does he look so world-weary and ugly now? I hope good old Drake isn't gonna become the next victim of Christopher Nolanification.

Batman Akrham Knight and Order 1886 have switched to the realtime cutscenes, which is I think great move.

Realtime cutscenes also mean no bloated sizes of game. those 1080p videos in various languages is whats making the games 50gb+.

GTA V is 40Gb+ without this. It's rendering in realtime with whatever clothing, hair, facial hair and tattoos you've put on your avatars but yeah, the size of the movie files in Uncharted games (particularly 2 and 3) are nuts. The voice languages are almost certainly separate tracks mixed with the music/fx background during playback.

Game still in pre alpha 1080p 30 fps

Troy Baker + Nolan North at it again
Although we are still in the pre-alpha stage of development, everything you see in the video is in-game and in real-time running at 1080p and a stable 30hz. It’s looking pretty spectacular already and we still have quite some time to optimize and refine our technology to make this the best looking and playing Uncharted game to date.
If you’re wondering who called Nathan Drake “little brother” and exactly what that means, we’ll be trickling out more details soon. Why is Drake on an island? What’s he searching for? Who’s shooting at Drake again and why is he shooting back? Be sure to pay attention to our Twitter feed and social channels for the latest news and updates. 2015 is going to be awesome.

I've only watched the Youtube footage, but it didn't look all that great. And if it ends up running at 30fps at launch, I won't be impressed.

I think they know they haven't quite lived up to their own hype.
