There , there :

Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells teased, “if you pick through the trailer you’ll find some hints,” which I have done.

One location featured in the trailer is the Cape of Good Hope, a location on the Atlantic cost of the Cape Peninsula, South Africa. The significance of this location could perhaps refer to the legend of The Flying Dutchman, a legendary ghost ship of tormented and ghostly sailors.

The teaser seem like its a dead man returning to haunt his tormentors !

Another :
During today’s PS4 launch event, we got our first glimpse of a new Uncharted game in a teaser trailer. Naughty Dog have told us that there are secrets about the plot hidden in the video.
We’ve had a look over the trailer ourselves and we’ve found that the last piece of the map shows the east coast of Madagascar, presumably one of the locations to be explored in the next game.
We’ve also found that the last bit of text shown on the map translates to “This day, you shall be with me in Paradise,” suggesting that players will be looking for the Garden of Eden.
The trailer also references being buried alive. The only reference we could find to this in the Bible discusses baptism, possibly pointing at the Fountain of Youth
"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life."

.

If the game is actually set in the times of Francis Drake then UC2 said that Francis was looking for Shambhala. But since we found that in UC2 itself, I think it will be some other voyage of Sir Francis

The game has hinted at that there are 7 hidden cities. I've always wondered if we would get to see all of them and if there would be an overarching plot.

Pretty much the most detailed till now.
What’s more, at one point the map shows “Every betrayed us all”. Henry Every was a seventeenth century pirate who was called “The Arch Pirate” and “The King of Pirates” by his contemporaries, staged the most profitable pirate raid in history, and was never caught – retiring to enjoy his wealth. He also betrayed a lot of his men, and his wealth wasn’t found (perhaps Nathan Drake will find it). Oh, and he did operate around Africa, as well as India and the Caribbean. It’s important to note that the time Every operated in was long after Sir Francis Drake, so that likely rules out older Drake.

At the end of the video, the screen focuses on an island next to Madagascar, circling it like on a treasure map. Île Sainte-Marie/Nosy Boraha is the small island in question, and just so happens to have been a pirate haven throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, and Henry Every is known to have sheltered there at île aux Forbans. The island was also thought to be the home of the possibly fictional Libertatia, an anarchist colony founded in the late 17th century by pirates under Captain James Misson. The pirates freed slaves and apparently used elected systems of re-callable delegates.

If it wasn’t obvious enough, the Libertatia motto was “for God and liberty,” which appears on the teaser trailer for Uncharted. Hodie Mecum Eris In Paradiso’ is ‘Today, you shall be with me in Paradise’ in Latin, one of the seven last words of Christ, and the Libertatians were thought to be very religious and want to build a paradise.

But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

- Luke 23:39-43

Pirates seem to be confirmed anyways from the skull and seas in the trailer.

So, they always tackle one natural phenomena ineach game

Jungle= UC1
Snow=UC2
Sand=UC3
Stormy Seas on PS4 = UC 4 :runaway:

And it was really cool. Could become the next meme - gameplay on a stormy sea (see Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed 4, so fitting Uncharted 4 would have it too :p)

There was a stormy sea in 3!!

yea.....but in the interviews they said they had focussed on sand , to make it look authentic, so it stuck in my mind :).

Maybe AC4 has already spoiled their pirate gameplay surprise. What if they have an open world too? I hope not, though. I want as much graphic fidelity as possible and gameplay fun from UC2.

The voice wasn't Nolan North... maybe a Sully story, or a Drake in his older years?

Listen to the words, not just the voice. It sounds like the voice of somebody who feels that they have been wronged.

"Some chains can never be broken. I lost 15 years buried alive. Erased. You left me rotting in that hellhole and never looked back. But you can't outrun the past. And when it catches up, when all your lies collapse around you. I'll be there. Sifting through the wreckage. You owe me."

That doesn't fit Drake's history, although it could be set in the future. But I think it more likely that it's the protagonist in the next game.

I think its the villian, not the hero.
BTW, it could the Pirate "Every" pointed out earlier.

The cruise ship always sticks out in my mind because one of the programmers from Naughty Dog was on the Giant Bomb E3 livestream the year they demoed that level. He talked about how they simulated all the movement in the ship based on the motion of the ocean water, and then literally turned the whole thing on its side when it started sinking and it blew away all the other developers present. It came across as the biggest technical accomplishment in the game, the same way the train level in Uncharted 2 was a big deal.

- Trailer showed south of Africa, Magadascar and then pirate island St. Marie.
- Map shows text "Every betrayed us all". Henry Every is one of the most successful pirates of all time. He was active for 1 year, but has managed to snatch 250+ tons of gold, diamonds and jewels from one Indian treasure fleet that traveled toward Mecca.
- Narrator talked about "being left behind to rot". Entire crew of Every's pirate fleet (~5 ships) received incredible payment in gold, but majority was caught. Every managed to escape from authorities and was never caught.
- Henry Every lived 1 century after Sir Francis Drake, so maybe we will see some of his descendants [possibly narrator?].

And let us not forget monitor screen in the background of one of the TLOU studio visits:

This. Sounds like some villain or something. Cool. Whatever it is, I'm excited!

Don't think the game will use another main character, so it's still Nathan in present time.. hopefully with Elena.

From the info on Henry Every, looks like we go to Africa, Mecca and India this time.
