Uh... Usb hdd bitlocker did not as for password, how am I supposed to unlock it on a different computer?

It's currently still in the process of encrypting the external drive. But before it starts encrypting, it didn't ask for a password.

How am I supposed to be able to unlock it on a different computer?

I think it'll ask you for a password (or a smart card) once it completed the encryption.

hopefully that'll the case. its still 10% after i left it overnight. so probably would take almost a week to complete the encryption process

Why I didn't encrypt it from the get go? Because I forgot

How to encrypt a file
1. Right-click (or press and hold) a file or folder and select Properties.
2. Select the Advanced button and select the Encrypt contents to secure data check box.
3. Select OK to close the Advanced Attributes window, select Apply, and then select OK.

You are right!

After it finished encrypting, I can go to the bitlocker control panel and create password
