Tray issue with Liteon Burner.

Hey guys.

I was recently given a free liteon 52x24x52 burner, and it works flawlessly bar one problem. The cd tray closes itself after being open for about 3 seconds..giving me barely enough time to put a new cd in or such.

Also makes burning hard, when it's finished burning it auto-ejects like normal, then closes itself, then ejects, then closes, then finally gets over it. Pretty annoying.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem may be? Perhaps a damaged motor, or something out of place in the front..just anything I might be able to adjust to fix it because it's pretty annoying

Maybe if you gave some extra information, such as the model number etc , maybe someone would be kind enough to sniff out a firmware you could try flashing to see if the behaviour changes... Anyway, how much effort is it worth spending on a CD unit anyway? DVD burners sell for peanuts these days (get a NEC! ), and you can fit loads more junk per disc...
