Tips of "old" PS2 games..

Was thinking of getting ZOE2 because it was pretty cheap and atari splashdown2/also cheap and add Killzone just because it cheap, anyone played Splash2 because i "heard" it should be better than WaveRace-Blue Storm.

Oh definately get ZOE2. It's a sin not to own it, if you've got a PS2. Unfortunately KillZone isn't dirt cheap overhere, so I'll just pass on it for a little while longer as I refuse to pay for something that should have been 60 Hz...

Hum, not sure about Splash 2, but I thought Splashdown 1 was already pretty good looking at the time...

Killzone goes for 20Euro. That´s cheap to me atleast :D
ZOE2 was like 25 and i never seen it in a store so it looks like a pretty rare item.
Splash2 i still want to know some more from someone that played it.

I played it, so I think i can answer your questions about it.
You said you heard it was better WR:BS, it's hardly true. Not because Splashdown 2 isn't goood, but because they're too different to be compared, if you ask me.
Splashdown 2 is 100% Arcade, with fantasy settings, such as gigantic stadiums with platforms of water(!), themes parks etc...
While WR is more realistic in its game physics and in its settings.

Now, about the most important part of any game, the fun, and if you ask me, we're talking about crap here.

Splashdown 2 is a €5 at best. Don't go pay 20 hard earned Euros for this.
Even if you love Jet-Ski, and if you're making easy money (Being a pimp, a drug baron or something) don't go lose your time on such trash.

Although, *Disclamer*, I have to be honest here, I hate Jet-Ski games with a passion... I blame the original Wave Race on N64.

Ring of Red?! Sounds like a "female issue". :p ...but I do like mechs, so I will look into it. Thanks for the heads-up!

I remember renting both Splashdown (the original) and Wave Race: Blue Storm back in the day. I enjoyed Splashdown much more, and ended up buying it.

Funny, because I rather enjoyed the original Wave Race on N64. I think Nintendo tightened up the controls or something for Blue Storm... whatever it was, I just didn't dig it.

Giant robot games! I love giant robot games! Some others:
Robot Alchemic Drive
the Armored Core series (AC2, Another Age, AC3, Silent Line, Nexus)

I've played all of those except Nexus. I somehow didn't notice when Nexus came out; I plan on getting it soon.

RAD is funny (in a weird, badly translated way) and somewhat short, but worth picking up cheap (I got it for like $8 at EB). The control scheme is awesome. The sense of scale is great too. In the game, you control your human pilot, who controls a giant robot via remote control. So cool things can happen like the building your human is standing on can get knocked down, or your giant robot can get knocked down and land on your human guy. You switch between controlling your human (in third person) to get in position to see your robot and controlling your robot via line-of-sight from wherever you put your human.

People either love or hate the Armored Core series. The production values aren't high, but I dig the gameplay. I guess that's obvious, since I've played four of them. The control scheme is weird. I'd say it's worth renting an AC game (or buying whichever you can find cheapest) to see if you like the series.

Ring of Red is pretty good. I still haven't finished it. :(

Also, I'll add my voice against Killzone. I rented it and beat it in about eight or nine hours. The framerate is terrible, and there's nothing to do after you finish the story mode. Basically, I wasn't impressed. The art style and stuff is nice. I hope Killzone 2 will be good, but IMO the first game was a failure.

It's better in all aspects: better, bigger, faster, more spectacular, more fun, better looking... insanely beautiful, amazing.... just find the game and forget ZOE1!
