Time to R520 Launch?

That's probaly becouse you are in different time zoones.
The contd own is calculated from the time on the local computer, change the date and see for yourself.

the equation for velocity was on the banner, does this signify anything? I firugre it's symbolic of it's power, but it's a physics equation, what if it has something to do with physics?

I don't think you can call that a physics equation.

Velocity is most definitely a concept born out of Newtonian physics, so it is very much a physics equation (although one of the simpler ones).

Sure, but that's not velocity, as velocity is a differential vector equation.

I'd more call that an equation from grade school math word problems.

When I first saw it figured it as the equation for 1D motion in kinematics. Then my brain moves on to "they're going to accelerate 1D graphics processing too, somehow?"

Maybe it literally is the fastest video card on the planet, point-to-point? It has an inflatable skirt and the fan exhaust can propel it across the lab at incredible speed.

Slap me if I'm imagining things, but wouldn't v=d/t be a marketing joke, where t would be the time it took them to get to market, thus implying that v is still high because d is huge?
Okay, for 10 minutes, you now have the right to kill me. Or, if I'm right, to kill the ATI guy who thought of that*.

Uttar

True, but they probably have to market to the lowest common denominator. I doubt people recognize the larger and more complex equations. But I would figure marketers be a bit more discrete and put up a less recognized equation if they wanted to imply a PPU, like how about the equation for friction or Newton's Law of Gravity? Then people who recognize them could post about them in forums and create some kind of buzz.

Gah, it's just a stupid little statement in an attempt to get people to associate their next product with speed.
