Thunderbird extension "minimize to system tray" = HEAVEN!!!!

How well does Thunderbird's searching work these days? I tried it a couple months ago, and I liked everything else, but the searching was completely worthless. It was like it just grabbed random emails and put them in the results box, since they never came close to matching what I searched for.

I use gmail now, but I've got a TB mailbox that's got about 5 years of previous email (converted from outlook). Not being able to search reliably kinda put a damper on my switch from outlook to TB.

Do you mark your spam as junk by pressing j or do you just delete it? For me it has probably > 99% success rate.

I'm guessing that he isn't, else he'd be getting much better detection rates over time - and that goes for not dumping legit mails in the bin too.
