I got the candle from a user created level called Library I think. Otherwise you'll have to wait until I get home tonight (in 9 hours earliest) in which case I'll try to send it to you, haven't tested that feature yet. ;)

Right now I just want to thank you lucky beta guys who are giving something back to the excited folk who missed out!

It's inspirational stuff and my head is just spinning right now...and I still have over 3 weeks to wait!

you can also launch any non empty level in creation mode and capture every objects in it.

I got to play this the other day at my friends house. I only played some stuff he threw together but so far I like it , it controlls pretty well although sometimes a little loose. I really want to play with the level builder but if I had to grade it , i'd give it a 85% based on what I experianced. If the level builder is as good as my friend is raving about that would get bumped into the 90s.

The PS Blog or forums has stated official, all the current content will be removed, not ported. Still, it's all sitting on the betatesters HDDs ready to be uploaded again...

Oh ok, in that case, it's no issue.

EDIT: Sony needs to do more educational levels though, backed by some child psychologists or education professors. :p

I hope the demo thing is true :) !
THough its just one week before launch, but well, atleast we get it as early as we can. All these cool stuff flowing out of the beta has just proven the concept of LBP works !

Weird. One week before the games released, with a load of content that'll disappear on the lauinch day? If the current content is getting flushed at the end of the closed Beta, will the content of the demo start blank and fill up once again (in which case why clear it)?

They aren't being flushed. All levels created in the Beta will be avilable when the full game launches.

And my save sdata was just corrupted - lost everything. All my changes o my level. Spent hours adding everything back in - suffering from the same overheating and level falling apart. I've uploaded my final build...and I added a Snow machine lol. I think it's pretty cool.

Hey deep, I just figured out a nice way of shooting stuff. You could use it to throw snowballs at a snowman or something ... ;)

I think this way of shooting might be fairly flexible. I've also created a variant that shoots electrified stars that are lethal to sack-people, which could make for some funny mayhem in multiplayer. They're fairly easy to control, even this first rough attempt, I filmed it with one hand, grabbed and manouvred it with the other.

Another idea that just popped into my head - you can create an object with the green disappearing stuff, and put an angel or something like that made of upward floating material inside it.

Well emitters aren't really a secret...go have a look at my new build. It's snowing...

Have you fixed "A" yet?

just out of curiosity, I know that there are a couple of "depth layers" (planes in which you can build stuff). Can you run around in all of them or is there a background- and/or foreground-layer, where you can build stuff but cant interact directly while playing ?

I have some lemmings-like stuff in mind, where you have to keep a AI-dude in the background from dying by pulling switches (interacting with the background) in a timely manner. Would beat having a simple timer for some actions :p

Well, that's true ... and no, A is still as it is. I can do it by myself each time, let people figure it out - quite a few seem to have managed. ;)

I will eventually use these ideas in proper levels though, right now they don't have anything to do with the letter, it's just the next idea I had.

Here's another one I just came up with. I'm sure it's not original but I wanted to try it. It looks nicer without the key things visible, forgot to take them off.

okay i've been messing around trying to get custom music working in an easier to use way, but i can't get emitters to work properly. the timing of them goes wrong. hell i can set three of them to 0 sync and if i've messed around a bit with timing before hand they wont be in sync even with the same frequency and sync settings. so you're trying to fine tune emitters with moving goal posts.

so is the timing system of emitters just broken or what?. does when they were created impact them? looks like more testing for me to find out.

Lol. Well it's a co-op game...and A just doesn't work for more than one person. And you can't do it everytime lol. I remember when you said "Let me do it, it's easy"...and you were struggling to do it for 5 minutes. Plus we had to restart the level twice to do it - you should never have to restart a level to complete a task.

Arwin, how far can the followers... follow you ? Like can I make a lode runner out of it ?

I was thinking about Lemmings too. However instead of them matching blindly, I was toying with the idea of them following the players instead. That way the SackBoys can compete for followers. Do you think it will work ?

No, it definitely needs to be different from what it is now, but it is not broken for more than one person anymore - that's why I added the switch. But you have to figure it out (you can do it in various ways if you work together cleverly), and it's a lot harder than the rest of the level :D. It's just that when you were around, someone else kept messing it up (a blue sackboy).

When you were gone, I asked them again to let me do it by myself, and it worked the first time. ;) You can do it together also, if one hangs on, and the other drags you to the fire and then releases you, for instance. The advantage of this one at least is that it's at the beginning. ;) I'll figure out a reset for that contraption though, but really it's just a mechanics test level at the moment. It will be very different if I make a kids level with the alphabet at the end. I'll probably make a hot air balloon or something else. They have to be fairly easy and quick to do, because the alphabet is long. ;)

I think you can make enemies that follow you a fair bit, though they won't be brilliant at it. There's a sort of lemmings something in one of the levels already if I remember correctly.

had a chance to test LBP out... can't help myself but i'm somewhat disappointed.

don't get me wrong! LBP is fun and still could evolve into a system seller. but i really hoped this could be a "blizzard style sandbox" for consoles. you know like the map-editors in starcraft and warcraft 3. sure you cannot expect a normal user holding a gamepad in his hands to write scripts and triggers. but it would have been nice to add this option for some "advanced users"... heck it only needed 1 guy to create dota, but thousands are playing ;)

the way LBP is now, the experience is pigeonholed into side-scrolling gameplay. this will have some serious impact on long term motivation. there are only so many things you can do with side-scrolling gameplay and the industry started with side-scrolling games 30 years ago!

i think LBP will have a very strong but short pike of success. you just don't have enough options to support new ideas and gameplay over the course of months or even years!
