Finished it today. Such a beautiful game.
It's one of those rare games that have a soul. If Miyazaki would make a game it would have probably been something similar.

Btw if Trico was a dragon, this could have very well been an intro to a next gen Panzer Dragoon series.
Similar vibes from the art are there. Also the idea of bonding with a legendary beast is a common theme. As well as the fact that the dragon's skills in Zwei and Saga was developing throughout the adventure. The shield's usage was not very far from commanding the dragon to send laser beams
